The Revenue Cycle Business Process Analyst is an essential position that plays a crucial role in driving business performance and improving revenue cycle operations. This role requires an excellent understanding of Epic systems, data analysis, and reporting to enhance operational efficiency. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, promoting continuous process improvement, and engaging stakeholders are vital to delivering successful outcomes. The Revenue Cycle Business Process Analyst must build relationships with IT and business teams, analyze existing processes, and propose adjustments for growth and financial savings. Furthermore, the Revenue Cycle Business Process Analyst must cultivate a culture of continuous improvement while engaging committees and staff to provide feedback and suggestions on interdisciplinary projects.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate proficiency in required technical competencies and perform job responsibilities to the set standards.

  • Support operations efficiency through business intelligence applications through data analysis, data visualization, and reporting.

  • Implement improved business performance workflows.

  • Translate strategy into clear, actionable initiatives and action plans.

  • Understand IT architecture and supported technologies.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with business and IT teams.

  • Analyze current business processes and make evidence-based recommendations for improvements.

  • Improve training and operational procedures to increase business efficiency and productivity at a team level.

  • Direct interdisciplinary projects that impact the department's overall operation and strategic direction. Develop new process and new ways of reviewing data strategies as needed.

  • Engage committees and staff with updates on system-wide integrated and unit level testing process.

  • Brainstorm with other professionals and provide feedback and suggestions to continue project development and best practice for success of PMO Tool (service now) and ITS & Operations mapping.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Extensive knowledge and experience of healthcare revenue cycle operations across the hospital system.

  • Skilled in managing complex initiatives at a department and system level with multiple stakeholders, competing priorities, and tight deadlines, with a focus on improving revenue cycle performance and business processes.

  • Strong track record of identifying revenue cycle risks and issues, using analytical and critical thinking skills, and developing and implementing effective solutions.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to facilitate and organize effective collaboration among revenue cycle teams, other departments, and stakeholders.

  • Proficient in various software applications, such as Microsoft Excel, SQL, or statistical software, to analyze revenue cycle data, identify trends, and draw meaningful conclusions.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and deliver high-quality revenue cycle results under pressure.

  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional development to keep up-to-date with the latest industry trends, regulations, and best practices in healthcare revenue cycle management.

  • Strong foundation in system-wide healthcare testing, including testing protocols, methodologies, and practices.

  • Proficient in video production for departmental training, culture, communications, and other purposes, using various video production tools, platforms, and technologies.

Qualifications

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree, in a business-related field such as finance, healthcare or equivalency.

  • 4-5 years of experience in revenue cycle operations.

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with proficiency in software applications such as Microsoft Excel, SQL or statistical software.

Qualifications (Preferred)

Preferred

  • Smartsheet Certification.

  • Certification in Lean, Six Sigma, or similar improvement methodologies.

  • Experience in systems integration.

  • Data visualization and data analysis experience.

  • Video production, editing, layout design, effects, etc..

  • Graphic Design skills.

  • Proficiency in application coding, such as HTML or CSS.
