Summary of Functions

Audits revenues for all gaming and operational areas.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensures compliance with the Kalispel Tribe of Indians- State of Washington Gaming Compact, Internal Controls, NIGC Regulations and Northern Quest Policies and Procedures.

  • Audits cage, slots, vault and soft count, table games, Keno, OTB, food and beverage, retail outlets and hotel, country club, spa and any other operational areas to compile general ledger entries.

  • Performs monthly and quarterly audits and counts required under our internal control policies or department policies and procedures.

  • Tracks and reports daily coupon activity in all venues.

  • Prepares daily general ledger entries.

  • Prepares daily exception notices.

  • Assists department supervisor with other activities and projects as necessary.

  • Ensures control/protection of company assets.

  • Responsible for maintaining a good attendance record.

  • May be required to be a panelist for the Internal Review Hearings.

Education

  • Minimum of an AA degree from a two-year college or technical school with a minimum of two college level accounting courses.

Experience

  • One year experience directly related to the responsibilities noted above; or equivalent of education and experience.

Skills

  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office programs and other computer software.

  • Ability to successfully complete a basic Excel test.

  • Ability to operate a 10-key, accurately.

  • Attention to detail and ability to gather analyze and report information skillfully and accurately.

  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages and ratios to practical solutions.

  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with department heads and employees.

  • Ability to work under pressure to meet month end deadlines.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

  • Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Knowledge of general business and accounting practices.

  • Skill in identifying and resolving administrative problems under pressure conditions.

Other Requirements

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Tribal Gaming License and a Class III Gaming License.

  • Work nights, weekends and holidays as required.

Physical Demands

  • Requires the ability to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds.

  • Constantly requires the ability to give and receive detailed information through verbal communication.

  • Constantly requires verbally expressing or exchanging ideas of important instructions accurately, loudly, or quickly.

  • Constantly requires working with fingers rather than the whole hand or arm.

  • Constantly requires repetitive movement of the wrists, hands and/or fingers.

  • Often requires walking or moving about to accomplish tasks.

  • Occasionally requires standing and/or sitting for sustained periods of time.

  • Occasionally requires ascending or descending stairs or ramps using feet and legs and/or hands and arms.

  • Occasionally requires raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally.

  • Occasionally requires stooping which entails the use of the lower extremities and back muscles. Infrequently requires crouching.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
