JOB TITLE: REVENUE ANALYST

ABOUT YOU:

You have a passion for revenue accounting and you enjoy working on a multitude of accounting, finance, and organizational duties in a variety of areas.

Your duties:

  • Review customer contracts and orders forms to identify potential revenue recognition issues and ensure proper revenue treatment

  • Create accurate invoices based on order forms in a timely manner

  • Audit, reconcile, correct, and communicate any discrepancies in customer invoices to customer.

  • Calculate and book monthly revenue accruals

  • Assist in reconciling deferred and unbilled revenue accounts

  • Work closely with sales management, legal and sales operations to ensure proper compliance with revenue recognition rules and guidelines

  • Develop new processes to allow faster and more efficient recording of transactions as well as assisting in the implementation of upgraded systems

  • As needed, you will assist with quarterly and annual internal/external audit requests as well as perform accounting research and documentation

  • Throughout the quarter you will assist with other accounting projects/areas as necessary

Required Skills:

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general revenue documents and contracts

  • Understanding of ASC 606 and US GAAP Accounting Standards

  • Ability to organize and prioritize responsibilities effectively in order to meet deadlines

  • Ability to recognize problems, gather data, draw valid conclusions, and effectively present information to managers, peers, and customers

  • Ability to work effectively with a wide variety of people; strong communication skills, both written and oral

  • Solid PC skills with excellent Excel skills

Preferred Skills:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

  • CPA or Big 4 Accounting experience

  • 2-5 years experience in SaaS software revenue accounting

  • Credit or Lending experience

  • Experience with Salesforce

  • Experience/familiarity with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements and documentation

VIEW JOBS 4/6/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-07-05T00:00 Job Description: Job Title: Revenue Analyst Location: Austin, TX Reports to: Revenue Supervisor Summary/objective: Parsley Energy is seeking an oil and gas revenue analyst in its Austin, Texas office. The revenue analyst will be responsible for revenue accounting, severance tax reporting, payout calculations, and GLO reporting for oil, gas and NGLs. Essential functions: * Record monthly oil & gas revenue for assigned purchasers. * Prepare severance taxes for oil, gas, and NGLs. * Reconcile taxes payable accounts for all products monthly. * Review Texas comptroller's Crude Oil & Natural Gas Inquiry System to ensure that all filings are accurate and prepare amendments when needed. * Provide account details needed to calculate appropriate marketing deduction rate. * Work with marketing department and purchasers to ensure tax reimbursement is being applied correctly. * Review leases to apply for exemptions when possible. * Track payouts for assigned wells. * Setup reporting controls for oil and gas leases with the GLO. * Report GLO for all products by completing the production and royalty documents. * Reconcile volumes monthly between RRC and GLO reporting. * Reconcile GLO payable accounts for all products monthly. * Work with land department to ensure all documents are submitted to the state for filings. * Complete monthly look back for GLO reporting to ensure filings are complete and submit amendments as needed. * Communicate with regulatory and production accounting to ensure correct RRC IDs and permit numbers are being used for severance taxes and GLO reporting. * Provide response/resolution in a timely and thorough manner to all internal and external inquiries. * Comply with internal SOX controls ensuring appropriate documentation for the control requirements. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Physical Demands: This is largely a sedentary role: However, while performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The worker is also required to have close visual acuity for viewing a computer terminal, reading, transcribing, and preparing and analyzing data and figures. Position type and expected hours of work: This is a full-time position, and typical work hours are Monday-Friday 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. or 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the "core" work hours. Travel: A minor amount of travel is expected for this role. Any travel is related to training, conferences and seminars. No more than 10% per year.
