GoodData is seeking a highly self-motivated Revenue Analyst, who will perform contract review, oversee the billing and collection process, as well as provide accurate reporting of revenue and accounting data as part of the monthly close process. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the individual will work with cross-functional teams to help develop and implement processes to improve operational efficiency. Candidate should have a strong understanding of software revenue recognition and the ability to research technical accounting literature to provide robust analysis and conclusions.

This role also provides a great opportunity to get your feet wet in various parts of the accounting close and audit process. We are looking for someone who has the drive to learn and grow within the Company. The ideal candidate is highly analytical and thrives in a fast-paced startup environment.


  • Ability to read complex contracts/agreements and identify pertinent terms and issues to provide appropriate accounting guidance and propose solutions within Company's existing revenue recognition policy and accounting literature (SAB 101, SAB 104, SOP 97-2, EITF 08-1) as well as the new revenue recognition standard, ASC 606.

  • Collaborate cross functionally with other teams with respect to product launches and pricing changes to provide guidance on technical accounting, policy or process issues in the area of revenue recognition.

  • Approve and commit sales orders for revenue recognition and maintain documentation supporting the revenue recognition schedules.

  • Work closely with Sales, Finance, and Professional Services teams to improve process workflow within Netsuite and integration with other systems (e.g. Salesforce and WorkFront) and provide guidance to ensure accurate generation of sales orders entry and invoices.

  • Run monthly close process for revenue, including preparing JEs, reconciliations, reporting and analysis for revenue, deferred revenue, AR and unbilled receivable accounts. Must be able to calculate and analyze VSOE or ESP for the Company's products as well as calculate bad debt and sales return reserves in accordance with GAAP.

  • Coordinate with outside tax experts and drive the sales tax compliance process to ensure proper and timely reporting in various applicable states, including state registration, voluntary disclosure agreement application, customer communication, etc.

  • Manage AR collections, provide monthly AR aging detail report, review cash application, prepare state and local excise and property tax filings, etc.

  • Assist with procedure documentation and implementing processes and accounting policies within the company.

  • Assist in the preparation of month-end financial package, including balance sheet and P&L flux analyses.

  • Assist with external audits and prepare ad hoc analyses as needed.


  • BS/BA degree from a top tier school (Accounting, Finance or Economics)

  • Minimum three (3) - five (5) years industry

  • Big 4 experience (audit) preferred

  • Certified Public Accountant is a plus

  • Experience using Netsuite and Salesforce is highly desirable

  • Superior analytical skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Detail oriented and able to effectively organize and manage multiple responsibilities.

  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively with a team and suggest improvements to various processes.

  • Positive and upbeat personality to work in a dynamic environment with all levels of management and functions

  • Strong understanding of accounting and finance principles.

  • Prior experience with SaaS company is a plus

The Revenue Analyst position will directly support the 2 Cluster Directors of Revenue that is responsible for a total of four properties. This position will be based out of either our Corporate office in San Francisco, CA (preferred) or at one of our Stanford Hotel Properties in the following locations: Burlingame, CA; Santa Clara, CA; Woodland Hills, CA; San Diego, CA; Phoenix, AZ; Albuquerque, NM. The Revenue Analyst will update, process, generate and distribute daily, weekly and monthly revenue management reports in various systems, including Hilton and Marriott's revenue management systems, to include, but not limited to: * Daily and Weekly Group Pick-Up Reports, Weekly Booking Pace Reports Daily and Weekly Shop Call Reports, Various Booking Pace reports (i.e.: promotions, seasonal, etc), Month-end Revenue Management, and Market Comparison Reports * Data entry into various systems, including Excel, assist in preparation of the monthly forecast reports, monthly displacement report, monthly transient historical trend reports, monthly no-show analysis reports and Demand Calendars. * Development of new reports, as needed, to assist in preparation for the weekly revenue management meetings or data analysis. * Maintain historical statistical data from all distribution channels. Analyze and present accurate picture of trends, demand and market conditions. * Monitor and analyze the competition daily and weekly through shop calls, the Internet to identify selling strategies and market trends. Alert Cluster Director of Revenue of emerging trends. * Maintain and enter accurate forecast and demand information * Maintain / monitor group inventory in CRS. Monitor /follow-up group cut-off dates in all systems. * Accurate preparation and distribution of daily and weekly occupancy forecasts * Provide administrative support for the Revenue Department to include * Generate documents in Word or Excel including weekly Revenue Management Meeting minutes. * Copying of reports for distribution and for the weekly revenue management meetings * All other duties as assigned by management JOB REQUIREMENTS: * Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience. * 2 years of experience with hotel industry revenue/reservation systems and hotel property management systems preferred. * Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access Database * Proficient at statistical and competitive analysis. * Ability to perform critical analysis. * Appropriate professional appearance and demeanor. * Manages time well, correctly prioritizes and is flexible * Detail-oriented. * Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines The employer will consider qualified applicants with criminal histories in the manner required by the FCO.
