The Compliance Division's Initial Contact Team is looking to fill a Lead Revenue Agent 3 (RA3) position. This position is a designated lead worker, trainer, and mentor for lower level Revenue Agents and Tax Information Specialists, providing leadership to the team in the absence of the supervisor.

Telework- This position will primarily work remotely, however the duty station will be the field office closest to their residence. The successful candidate must agree to regularly travel to field offices and other locations statewide for key scheduled meetings, training, or as operational needs dictate. Details of teleworking will be addressed during the interview process.

This position is responsible for helping oversee taxpayer assistance in the ICT and the predictive dialer system. In this position, you will:

  • Serve as the primary trainer for new Tax Information Specialists and conduct ongoing training for more experienced Revenue Agents.

  • Monitor and review work for all staff and make recommendations for action.

  • Independently monitor staff's predictive dialer conversations with taxpayers.

  • Provide expert knowledge in all areas of excise tax laws and rules.

  • Troubleshoot dialer related issues and escalate as needed.

  • Assist in the implementation and facilitation of dialer call campaigns.

  • Resolve complaints or disputes that arise from customers on the dialer.

  • Demonstrate reliability, diversity, integrity, and accountability to meet the demands of the workplace.

In the absence of the supervisor, this position will become the acting supervisor.  In this role you will gain experience in assisting the hiring of new staff, carrying out training plans as provided by your supervisor, and evaluating the progression of training. To qualify as a Revenue Agent 3 (range 54 - $4,865 - $6,539):

Two years of experience working as a mainstream Revenue Agent with at least one year of those years at the journey level in mainstream Compliance operations within the Department of Revenue

OR

A bachelor's degree involving major studies in business administration, accounting, public administration, police science, economics, criminal justice, sociology, psychology, law or, closely related field

AND

two years of experience in the field of personal or business finance, tax auditing, law, law enforcement, adjustment of claims, examination and analysis of business tax records, collection of civil debts or other related field.

Additional qualifying experience may substitute, year for year, for education.

We're willing to fill this position as an in-training from the Revenue Agent 2 level. This means you would have an assigned training plan which includes on the job training. Upon successful completion, you will promote to a RA 3.

To qualify as a Revenue Agent 3 (in-training) (range 50 - $4,410 - $5,929):

One year experience as a Revenue Agent 1

OR

A bachelor's degree involving major study in business administration, accounting, public administration, police science, economics, criminal justice, sociology, psychology, law, or closely related field

AND

One year or more experience in personal or corporate finance, banking, law enforcement, adjustment of claims, collection of civil debts or other directly related field.

Additional qualifying experience may substitute, year for year, for education.
