Responsibilities

  • Manage revenue accounting team members and manage month end and quarter end close processes

  • Research accounting guidance and prepare technical memos to document Company's position on revenue transactions.

  • Manage quarterly and year-end audit requests and drive issue resolution

  • Work collaboratively with Legal, Sales, Business Operations, Billing, Professional Services, and FP&A to drive best practices and understand downstream revenue impacts

  • Managing SKU requirements to meet Product Management needs

  • Support ASC 606 system enhancements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance

  • Commitment to process improvement and the ability to think "out-of the box"

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • A team player, adept at building relationships across the organization

  • Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented self-starter with the ability to work

  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, Word and PowerPoint software applications

Preferences

  • CPA preferred

  • Big 4 Public accounting experience preferred

  • Experience with systems including NetSuite and Zuora preferred

The Amherst Single Family Equity Division is seeking a self-motivated, autonomous, intellectual curious accounting or tax professional to join the Accounting and Finance team as Accounting Manager. In this highly visible and dynamic position, you will create the stand alone accounting function for the Company. This position is responsible for the day to day management of the company's accounting operations, including the production of financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls. The Accounting Manager reports to the VP, Controller. Responsibilities: * Support the Company's month-end and quarter-end accounting close and financial reporting process * Work closely with the Company's external auditors during interim and year-end audits * Interact with the Company's Property Manager's accounting personnel * Oversee the monthly-close accounting calendar * Supervise accounting personnel * Assist with the design and implementation of the Accounting group's process improvement initiatives * Support the Company's implementation of technology and systems initiatives * Establish and enforce the Accounting group's policies and procedures * Train, mentor, and evaluate subordinate staff as appropriate Education, Work Experience & Skills and Abilities: * BA or higher degree in finance or accounting * CPA license or equivalent experience required * 2 – 3 years in a management or supervisory role overseeing accounting personnel * Minimum 2 years of Big 4 or Public Audit/Accounting experience required * Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written * Proven track record for driving process efficiencies * Superior analytical skills with the ability to manage large volumes of transactions and data; High level of Excel and spreadsheet skills * Strong initiative with excellent organization skills * Excellent problem solving skills with the ability to think outside the box * Ability to interact effectively at all levels of an organization * Ability to work independently and make sound decisions Amherst Holdings LLC is a privately held corporation and is located in West Austin with beautiful views of Lake Austin and the loop 360 bridge in a beautifully renovated modern work space with the latest technologies.
