About the Role

The Revenue Accounting Manager will be responsible for finance and accounting related to Gross-to-Net (GTN) to ensure appropriate revenue accounting. Through a combination of process design, best practice development, analytics, and reporting, they will develop best-in-class forecasting and GTN accrual processes. The role will partner with the third-party government pricing and GTN accrual provider, as well as internal resources in Market Access, Trade, Supply Chain, and Finance to ensure appropriate revenue reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Act as subject matter expert in pharmaceutical government pricing, and as primary owner of relationship with third-party government pricing and GTN accrual provider

  • Prepare, review and analyze journal entries for product gross-to-net accruals.

  • Account for product revenue and all other gross-to-net accruals, including rebate programs, returns reserves, estimates and other adjustments not managed by third party to accurately close the financial books.

  • Design, prepare and provide analytical, accounting, and reporting support primarily related to revenue, including monthly fluctuation explanations of actuals versus forecast.

  • Manage the documented processes and policies, including SOPs and identification of internal controls in connection with product revenue

  • Work with Commercial and other groups to monitor and update assumptions for gross-to-net accounting

  • Review and approve Medicaid, Tricare, Managed Care, etc. invoicing packages after creation by third-party vendor

  • Prepare, review and analyze all Generic invoices and Customer rebates, etc. preparing the invoicing packages for GL posting

  • Coordinate with Commercial team to ensure robust controls for sales cut-off to properly recognize revenue

  • Manage third party review of government pricing to ensure compliance, including best price calculations and other areas

  • Manage year-end audit of revenue accounting and all gross-to-net calculations and support

  • Analysis and reconciliation of accounts and preparation of monthly journal entries

  • Develop and continually evolve other reporting tools that enable accurate analysis

  • Perform strategic business and ad-hoc accounting projects as they arise

Required Qualification & Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher degree in Accounting or Finance

  • 5-7+ years of experience in pharmaceutical or life sciences experience; minimum of 1-2+ years specializing in Pharmaceutical Gross-to-Net Accounting desired

  • Knowledge of government pricing; rebate liability forecasting, and accruals

  • Ability to manage third party providers including approvals and review of accruals

  • Understanding of Generic pharmaceutical portfolio including chargebacks

  • Skilled in process modeling, financial analysis, and business process design

  • Advanced Excel required; building and maintaining models used for calculating and forecasting gross-to-net deductions

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and present in a structured manner to senior management

  • Experience with IntegriChain (e.g., government pricing, ICyte) a plus

  • Experience in a Contract Management, Strategy and Analytics environment or Commercial Operations and Analytics is desirable
