AvePoint's finance department is seeking a full time Revenue Accountant in our Richmond, Virginia office. This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly productive team and offers the opportunity to support the business.

The Revenue Accountant will have broad responsibilities across all functions, including exposure to accounting, reporting and analysis. This highly visible role will work closely with managements and seniors in the Finance team as well as cross-functional leaders throughout the company.


As the Revenue Accountant on the finance team, you'll be challenged to grow professionally and personally through assignments entrusted to you.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist with new US GAAP adoption projects, including but not limited to ASC 606 revenue recognition and ASC 340 deferred costs;

  • Review transaction data, analyze, allocate and calculate revenue for multi-element sales contracts for accurate and timely revenue recognition; Assist with service projects standalone selling price revenue recognition, service tracking and service projects profit/loss analysis for North America Territory;

  • Assist with revenue and AR reporting analysis;

  • Review urgent CRM opportunities, process urgent sales orders, and issue invoices through various channels;

  • Issue customer account statements, as needed;

  • Prepare vendor forms in North America Territory;

  • Other ad hoc revenue related tasks;

  • Assist with customer checks deposit and vendor checks printing.

Other qualities you'll need to be a fit for this role include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a commensurate level of relevant accounting experience.

  • Minimum of 2 years work experience in managing revenue recognition and/or service project accounting;

  • A high level of integrity, accuracy, dependability, enthusiasm, and confidentiality;

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, able to frequently adjust priorities and help the team out wherever needed;

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;

  • High attention to details;

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills with emphasis on Excel;

  • NetSuite/ERP experience is a plus;

  • Experience with software industry is a plus;

  • S. CPA/ACCA is a plus.

As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for general accounting functions including financial reporting of SSC operations and support of allocation to the hospitals. What you will do in this role: * Maintain General Ledger * Prepare monthly journal entries, analyses and account reconciliations as required to accurately close the monthly fiscal period * Prepare detailed monthly actual to budget variance reports to support SSC management in the review of monthly operating performance and allocation * Compile monthly statistics and key indicators * Distribute monthly reports to appropriate SSC personnel * Prepare monthly reconciliation for all Balance Sheet accounts with particular emphasis on cash, including documentation to support all balances * Accurately state reconciling items and investigate proper accounting transactions to clear them off the account. Assist in educating the SSC staff on the issues that are causing reconciling items to remain in the clearing accounts * Ensure that all processing and reporting deadlines are consistently achieved * Respond to requests for information from Corporate, Internal Audit, Hospital management and other internal management * Ensure that privileged and/or proprietary information is adequately safeguarded against disclosure EDUCATION Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required. Equivalent work experience may substitute education requirement. EXPERIENCE Minimum of two years of Accounting/Finance experience required. Relevant education may substitute experience requirement.
