Fiduciary Trust International, the HNW division of Franklin Templeton, is hiring a Retirement Relationship Associate / IRA Specialist (HNW Custody) to work in our St. Petersburg, FL location on a hybrid basis, approximately one day per month. The Retirement and IRA Relationship Associate serves as a primary point of contact for clients' daily requests and offers high quality account service and administration of retirement accounts with the objective of driving long-term satisfaction, client retention, resolving client inquiries, and ensuring regulatory oversight while helping our clients manage their retirement accounts.

Primary Responsibility is Client Administration and Regulatory Oversight of Retirement Accounts:

The Retirement Relationship Associate / IRA Specialist serves as subject matter expert for the organization regarding all retirement account policies, procedures, compliance, and IRS/ERISA regulations.

  • Advanced understanding of laws, regulations, and policies related to retirement accounts with an emphasis on IRA account. Candidates must have ample IRA experience/knowledge.

  • Works with Portfolio Managers & Relationship Managers to deliver client satisfaction by providing regulatory expertise and proactively identifying and resolving client issues.

  • Analyzes relevant documents and forms related to complex beneficiary designations, contributions, distributions, and prohibited transactions.

  • Explains IRA beneficiary options to eligible beneficiaries.

  • Provides oversight and guidance of IRA policies & procedures.

  • Independently manages all follow-up and ongoing deliverables by interacting with internal and external clients.

  • Processes Charitable Contributions and IRA Contributions.

  • Executes daily account administration activities, process clients' instructions, and follow through with involved parties.

  • Processes Required Minimum Distributions / IRA Withdrawals.

  • Reviews account opening contracts and required documents.

  • Processes account closings, transfer documents, and coordinate outbound transfers.

  • Prepares fee adjustments letters and update fee events.

  • Monitors daily cash overdrafts, and apply cash receipts and wire transfers.

  • Regularly speaks with HNW clients and responds to clients' retirement and IRA questions.

Additional Responsibilities include Client Management:

  • Communicates retirement account legislation changes or updates to appropriate departments.

  • Participates in client meetings at the discretion of Portfolio Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in business related field preferred

  • 5+ years of relevant financial services industry experience

  • IRA and Defined Contribution knowledge and experience required

  • Prior Retirement Services / IRA regulatory and compliance oversight experience

  • Prior client relationship experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Ability to work well independently and effectively in a hybrid / remote environment; must be able to self-manage time and be available during normal business hours

  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to function effectively in a team environment

  • Ability to manage challenging external clients and special situations

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and adapt to changing workloads and deadlines

  • Strong analytical ability

Compensation Range: Along with base compensation, other compensation is offered such as a discretionary bonus, 401k plan, health insurance, and other perks. There are several factors taken into consideration in making compensation decisions including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. At Franklin Templeton, we apply a total reward philosophy where all aspects of compensation and benefits are taken into consideration in determining compensation. We expect the salary for this position to range between $65K-75K base pay plus an opportunity to earn a discretionary bonus. Actual salary offered will depend on several factors, including the candidate's experience and skill level.
