A growing, Houston-based professional services firm, G&A Partners is currently seeking a Retirement Benefits Administrative Assistant to join its Retirement Benefits team at the corporate office located in Houston, Texas.

Summary:

The Retirement Benefits Administrative Assistant will assist with the comprehensive administration of day to day operations of the Retirement Benefits Team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain retirement records in payroll system with deferral changes, loans, payroll corrections, and adjustments.

  • Submit contribution files to various retirement carriers.

  • Handle client and worksite employee inquiries via phone and email.

  • Provide audit support for 5500 filing, prepare census requests, and execute required notices.

  • Communicate with Plan Sponsors and Third Party Administrators to resolve complex issues.

  • Provides administrative support to the Retirement Benefits team by assuming additional responsibilities and performing special projects as needed or directed to support the team and the organization.

  • Develop and maintain an excellent working relationship with other departments, staff and coworkers to make sure we exceed the customer's expectations and needs.

  • Maintains a high level of confidentiality with regards to all internal and external matters and other material as deemed necessary.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, Human Resources.

  • 3-5 years administration of retirement plans such as 401(k), 403(b), IRA.

  • Strong data analysis skills of payroll information.

  • Strong multi-tasking, organizational and administrative skills.

  • Strong detail orientation and communication/listening skills.

  • Strong collaboration skills, and the ability to work well with diverse personalities.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; Intermediate Excel skills including VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, and filter analysis.

Position Summary: Assists in all benefits department functions. Develops good client relationships and gives outstanding customer service. Essential Functions: * Assist Benefits Specialist with client renewals and new hire cases. * Provides required forms to broker and coordinates the gathering of information with broker * Reviews employee enrollment forms and confirms enrollments for all employee * Reviews documentation for accuracy and completeness and secures any missing information * Sets up employee plans and plan elections in the payroll system and with plan carriers * Reviews invoices after renewal/new case for accuracy and makes any corrections within 30 days of effective date * Assist Benefits Reconciliation Specialist in resolving reconciliation discrepancies and making corrections with carriers and in the payroll system Client benefit administrative functions as assigned which include servicing client accounts by: * Provides outstanding customer service. * Assists in the administration of client employee benefit plans including life, health, dental, vision, and disability insurance * Sets up employee deductions in the payroll system and with plan carriers * Processes status changes * Maintains vendor contact to investigate discrepancies and provide information in non-routine situations. * Responds to client and employee inquiries in compliance with State and Federal laws. * Provides carriers appropriate documentation for life, pension, and disability benefits claims. * Maintains employee benefit files in compliance with company guidelines * Additional benefits duties may be assigned as needed.
