The Retail Trading Professional supports TD Ameritrade's highest revenue generating, most sophisticated retail active trader clients. Retail Trading Professionals handle phone calls (inbound and outbound) and inbound chats in a fast paced, market sensitive environment. Duties include order entry, software tutorials, relationship building and management, risk analysis, and management and mentorship of clients through education on strategies and products.

Our office is conveniently located right off of Dodge on the TD Ameritrade campus within Old Mill. We offer an on-site cafeteria, covered parking and state of the art campus fitness facility. With approximately 330 associates in this building, associates get to experience working for an industry leader, among highly engaged co-workers, within a close-knit office.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct, real-time trader support to our retail active trader client segment

  • Master and teach the firm's most complex trading platforms (including, but not limited to: thinkorswim, and Mobile Trader) to help clients harness and maximize TDA technology

  • Analyze and interpret client positions and market conditions to proactively present advantages and disadvantages of various strategies to find the best solutions for our clients

  • Utilize trading experience to coach clients on best market practices including, but not limited to efficient order execution

  • Mentor clients and convey margin rules and calculations on derivative (options) positions and risk management

  • Perform multiple tasks simultaneously to serve multiple trader clients and associates in order to create a superior client experience

  • Leverage industry knowledge and platform expertise to deliver well-positioned leads to branches and other business partners

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience

  • Understanding of equities, option strategy, and risk preferred and a strong interest in the securities industry and capital markets

  • Must have necessary sense of urgency and strong judgment and prioritization skills

  • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to present complex information in a simplified manner to clients and associates

  • Series 7, 63 (or equivalent) with registration in all 50 states, or the capability to acquire them within the prescribed training plan upon hire

  • Military education, or experience may be considered in lieu of civilian requirements listed

Responsibilities As a Trading and Operations Compliance Team Lead, you'll lead a team of broker-dealer compliance staff responsible for various operational aspects of the broker-dealer's compliance program which includes supporting the firms brokerage, trading, and money movement compliance functions across product lines. Additional areas of focus include: * Design and implement policies and procedures to ensure business is conducted in compliance with company policies and procedures and applicable laws. * Provide practical compliance guidance to internal business partners. * Research applicable laws, regulations and guidance and analyze their potential application to the broker-dealer. * Advise management on laws, rules and regulations and on issues that involve possible violations. Prepare and deliver written and oral presentations to management. * Report compliance program status and activities to Compliance and business management personnel. * Represent Principal Securities within the industry, to internal boards/committees, internal auditors, and to regulators. * Lead, develop and motivate staff in an environment that embraces change, risk identification and management, teamwork, timeliness and results. Qualifications Successful candidates will understand fundamental investment concepts, practices and procedures used in the securities industry as well as financial markets and products. In addition, candidates will need: * Bachelor's degree or equivalent, plus at least 8 years relevant experience (compliance, legal, auditing, financial services). * Knowledge of the financial services market and products, securities laws (1933, 1934, and 1940 Acts) and regulations (SEC/FINRA/state/federal). * Extensive skill specific to broker-dealer compliance in: * Overseeing compliance programs. * Understanding trading function and common trading issues and exception processes. * Knowledge of fixed income, options, and general trading terminology and regulations. * Experience working with money movement, cashiering, ACAT, and wire transfer processes. * Identifying and implementing controls and quality assurance processes. * Investigating relevant irregularities. * Analyzing data for irregularities, linkages and trends. * Strong abilities in the areas of problem solving, project management, decision making and communication. * FINRA Series 7 and 24 required.
