Position: Team Leader
Reports to: Store Leader
Pay Type: Hourly (Non-Exempt)
Purpose:
The Team Leader
Essential Job Functions:
Softlines Department Supervision and Merchandising
Ensure company standards for merchandise freshness, conditions, pricing, and shop-ability in the apparel department.
Manage recovery, sizing, and markdowns to company standards.
Assist and oversee the placement of apparel merchandise on the sales floor.
Handle overall merchandising, including floor moves and signing tasks.
Maintain fitting room cleanliness and organization.
Supervision
Direct and supervise teammates within assigned responsibility areas.
Allocate tasks to team members, ensuring productivity.
Collaborate with Store Leader on daily plans and assignments.
Communicate daily plans and timelines to the team.
Set clear expectations and hold the team accountable.
Assist in recruiting and training new teammates.
Provide regular coaching and feedback.
Uphold company policies and maintain a respectful, values-driven workplace.
Handle store opening/closing and act as LOD when required.
Manage Front End operations and adhere to financial policies during LOD shifts.
Review timesheets and manage teammate schedules.
Handle Direct Store Deliveries and related processes.
Customer Service
Model and coach the team in providing exceptional customer service.
Drive customer experience and resolve issues efficiently.
Loss Prevention and Safety
Ensure company asset protection and report discrepancies.
Train team members in Loss Prevention and store shrink goals.
Maintain a safe shopping environment.
Job Qualifications:
High School diploma; Post-Secondary degree/diploma preferred.
Experience in retail and supervisory roles.
Proficiency in retail-related skills and basic mathematics.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
Excellent interpersonal and coaching abilities.
Capability to multitask, prioritize, and follow through.
Independent judgment and decision-making skills.
Confidentiality and integrity.
Competence in operating retail tools and equipment.
Additional Requirements:
Occasionally required to drive for business-related tasks.
Flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Full-time position with open availability.
Physical Requirements:
Mobility throughout the store.
Ability to lift and carry products up to 50 lbs.
Dexterity for hand-eye coordination tasks.
Continuous standing, frequent walking, and occasional bending required.
