Overview

As a Burlington Store Supervisor, you'll be an integral part of the store leadership team, working closely with Store Management in the areas of Merchandising, Customer Service, Operations, and Human Resources. This leadership position is the stepping-stone to a management role within our expanding organization. Responsibilities:

  • Supervises all store functions and associates while in the role of Manager on Duty

  • Maximizes sales results through training, developing and coaching of direct reports

  • Exemplifies "Our Burlington" Core Values - Drive Results, Trust & Respect, Builds Teams & Partnerships

  • Promotes safety for both our customers and associates by adhering to company guidelines.

  • Cultivates a diverse culture based on teamwork and collaboration

  • Reinforces our company Asset Protection strategies to eliminate shortage

  • Assists in recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding new associates

  • Participates in weekly workload planning meetings

  • Drives Community Relations participation through company programs and partnerships

  • Coordinate's meal and break periods and monitors schedule adherence

  • Performs other tasks as assigned by manager

Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of supervisory experience within an off-price, big box or a specialty environment

  • Strong interpersonal skills with a positive and engaging attitude

  • Ability to work a full-time schedule including nights, weekends and holidays as required

  • Ability to move/handle/lift store merchandise

Summary This position is responsible for the overall managerial direction for all retail and catering activities at UAA. Daily client and customer contact is required. Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Makes sure all assigned dining activities and services are provided in a high quality, consistent, and cost-effective manner. * Maintains excellent customer communications and relations that permit continuous improvement in provided services, efficient problem resolution, and acceptance of new services. * Plans, develops, implements, and revises policies, operations, and procedures. * Assigns and coordinates work of employees in food and beverage to promote efficiency of operations; planning, assigning, and directing work. * Supervises cash handling at multiple POS stations, ensures timely cash reconciliation and prepares bank deposits. * Measures the performance of assigned activities. * Prepares and serves food and refreshments at social affairs. * Arranges tables and decorations. * Prepares hors d'oeuvres, fancy and plain sandwiches, and salads. * Plans or participates in planning menus, preparing and apportioning foods, and utilizing food surpluses and leftovers. * Specifies number of servings to be made from any vegetable, meat, beverage, and dessert to control portion costs. * Purchase kitchen supplies, catering wares and equipment, or requisitions them. * Establishes and implements an organized system of supervision and general operating procedures. * Strong understanding of event management software i.e., Catertrax * Directs and coordinates the promotion of new services. * Is accountable for making sure all activities and operations comply with applicable internal and external regulations, laws, and sound business practices. * Tracks financial data, reports, forecasts, and expenditures to achieve optimum efficiency, economy of operations, and maximize profits. * Responsible for ordering supplies, stowage, maintaining control, and weekly inventories. * Supports an active safety program. * Ensures that all Food Safety Standards, food HACCP Logs, Calibration Logs, Sanitation Logs, and Freezer Refrigerator Logs are maintained daily. * Continuously seeks to improve the quality of assigned activities. * Plans and implements an effective staff training program. * Makes sure the responsibilities, authorities, and accountability of all assigned employees are defined and understood. * Consistently demonstrates professional skills in efficiently carrying out assigned activities, using all forms of communications, handling of change, developing employees, solving typical business problems, and making decisions. * Assist with serving food to guests, washing, packing dishes, and utensils for removal to catering establishments. * Works closely with Catering Chef for customized menus. * Responsibilities include pre-interviewing, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; assisting with appraising performance; assisting with rewarding and disciplining employees. * This position is responsible for the supervision of staff. * Other duties that are pertinent to the department or unit's success also may be assigned. Qualifications Minimum Requirements * High School Diploma or GED equivalent. * Must have minimum of three (3) years of supervisory or management experience in the Food Service industry. * Must have at least two (2) years of experience of food service management in a café or food court retail environment (i.e., hospital, school, or university setting). * At least two (2) years of demonstrated catering experience in a fast-paced environment. * Municipality of Alaska Food Handlers Card or ServSafe Certification contingent upon 30 days of hire. * Must have Training for Alcohol Professionals (TAP) certification; or have been formally trained in alcohol management/serving. * Daily client and customer contact is required. * Must have experience with sales reports POS (Point of Sale) transactions. * A valid Driver's License and an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years to be eligible under NMS' vehicle insurance policy. * Contract requires employees to speak, understand, read and write English.
