Job Description:

ApplianceSmart is currently looking for Full Time Stock Associates for our Military Drive store in San Antonio

The Retail Store Stock Associate is responsiblefor the flow, placement and movement of product in and out of the Store,for keeping the store stocked with merchandise for sale, for removing soldmerchandise, and in assisting with daily store cleaning. This is NOT a forklift position, this is a physically demanding position.

  • Assist in the loading/unloading of all outbound/inbound trailers, verifying model, serial numbers are accurate and paperwork is complete.

  • Move inventory around, consolidating so that there is room for incoming/outgoing loads. Insure the paperwork is correct, forwarded to the correct people/department.

  • Remove sold appliances from the sales floor and replace with new stock.

  • Assist customers by loading appliances into their vehicles.

  • Stage any deliveries or outgoing loads to center or other locations.

  • Assist with inventory and product labeling.

  • Install cords and ice makers into appliances prior to pick-up or delivery as needed.

  • Clean and detail appliances before appliances are put onto floor.

  • Assist salespeople in keeping appliances on the sales floor clean.

  • Protect the company's assets from internal/external theft

  • Assume responsibility for company-issued tools.

  • Keep the dock area, ramp and front of store clean of debris.

  • Clean bathrooms and assist salespeople in keeping store clean (floors, bathrooms, windows, garbage removal, etc.)

  • Assist in cleaning the outside area of the store, including the gathering of trash on sidewalks and parking lot, sweeping the sidewalks, and cleaning up of cigarette butts.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide back-up for sales associates for awaiting customers, answer phones, greet customers, and locate accessories.

Job Requirements

Essential Skills and Experience

A commitment to high professional ethical standards

  • Pleasant, polite manner for dealing with co-workers as wells as customers.

  • Availability to work flexible schedule, days, evenings, weekends and holidays a must.

  • Ability to work both independently and as a team member.

  • Previous manual labor work such as furniture or appliance delivery or moving experience.

Preferred Skills:

  • Some mechanical ability for using hand tools to attach cords and install icemakers.

Education and Experience

  • 6 months manual labor work experience

  • Have the ability to read and understand, lists, reports and MSDS's and acquire the information necessary to safely perform the job duties.

  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload; ability to meet deadlines and follow instructions

  • Basic Computer knowledge and skills.

Screening Requirements:

  • Criminal Background check, pre-employment physical, and Drug Test

  • Will be subject to random drug tests for safety sensitive positions.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the position requires:

  • Constant manual dexterity required for operating hand tools and computers.

  • Must have the ability to grip, lift, stoop, bend, squat, and turn on a consistently repetitive basis.

  • Must be able to stand and walk constantly during the work day.

  • Ability to safely lift up to 40 pounds on repetitive basis, and up to 75 pounds on an occasional basis without assistance. Physically able to perform strenuous work under varied circumstances.

Working conditions are normal for a warehouse environment. Floor is hard surface usually concrete or tile. Heating and air-conditioning may be limited depending on location. Requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; gloves, eye safety glasses, safety shoes.
