Responsibilities

Provides services to customers utilizing the Sports Medicine Shop. Services include filling prescriptions generated by practitioners in SFMH's Franciscan Treatment Room, Center for Sports Medicine, Physical Therapy Department, Hand Clinic and other prescribers in the area.

In addition, walk-in customers expect advice and assistance in the selection and fitting of appropriate products. The incumbent must have knowledge of how to process a cash, credit or insurance billing sale. Prior retail experience.

Successful candidates will have appropriate technical training (Medical Assisting, P.T. Aide) or a Batchelor level degree in an exercise or healthcare-related field. Medical Assistant (M.A.), Physical Therapy Aide (PT-A) or Bachelor-level training in an appropriate field.

Responsibilities Summary: Under the supervision of the Program Manager and/or other administrative staff, the Visitation Specialist I (VSI) works with children of divorced, separated and never married families, providing supervised visits, and monitored exchanges. The Visitation Specialist writes objective notes based on observations during visits. The Visitation Specialist's work schedule includes working holidays, weekends and week days/evenings, and provides on-call coverage. Other responsibilities may include compiling reports, conducting intake/orientations of clients and their children, writing and editing reports, data entry and other responsibilities as assigned. The VSI is required to work a minimum of one weekend day and one week day evening every two weeks, be available to work when on-call, and attend a monthly staff development meeting. Qualifications * 1-2 years in a volunteer, internship or paid work experience in the human services field. * A High School Diploma * Demonstrates knowledge of child development, child abuse prevention, or child exposure to domestic violence. Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills, with appropriate use of grammar rules and ability to edit documents. Knowledge of Microsoft Word processing. Preferred: * Detail oriented. Conflict resolution and limit-setting skills. Team oriented. Able to maintain professional boundaries and a courteous demeanor in challenging situations.
