Job Summary: Valley Wide Cooperative is seeking a dynamic and experienced Sales Manager to lead our sales team in promoting and selling our range of farm and ranch, core hardware and agricultural products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in farm and ranch, core hardware and/or agriculture, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record in sales management. This role involves developing sales strategies, building relationships with clients, and driving sales growth to achieve company targets.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy Development:
Develop and implement effective sales strategies to meet and exceed sales targets
Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify new sales opportunities
Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional campaigns and sales materials
Team Leadership and Management:
Lead, motivate, and manage a team of sales representatives to achieve individual and team goals
Provide training and development opportunities to enhance the skills and performance of the sales team
Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback
Customer Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders in the farm and ranch and agriculture industry
Identify and address customer needs and concerns to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
Negotiate contracts and agreements with customer to secure long-term partnerships
Sales Operations:
Oversee the entire sales process, from lead generation to closing deals
Prepare and present regular sales reports and forecasts to senior management
Monitor and manage the sales budget to ensure cost-effective operations
Develop and implement a Customer Relationship Management program for prospecting and sales development
Market Expansion:
Identify and explore new markets and distribution channels for farm and ranch and agricultural products
Attend industry events, trade shows, and conferences to network and promote the company's products
Conduct market research to stay informed about industry developments and emerging trends
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales management, preferably in the farm and ranch, hardware and/or agriculture sector
Strong knowledge of agricultural products and the agriculture industry
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
Proven ability to develop and implement successful sales strategies
Proficiency in using CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to travel as required
Preferred Skills:
Advanced degree in Agriculture or Business Administration
Experience working with a diverse range of agricultural products
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
