Job Summary: Valley Wide Cooperative is seeking a dynamic and experienced Sales Manager to lead our sales team in promoting and selling our range of farm and ranch, core hardware and agricultural products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in farm and ranch, core hardware and/or agriculture, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record in sales management. This role involves developing sales strategies, building relationships with clients, and driving sales growth to achieve company targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Strategy Development:

  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to meet and exceed sales targets

  • Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify new sales opportunities

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional campaigns and sales materials

  • Team Leadership and Management:

  • Lead, motivate, and manage a team of sales representatives to achieve individual and team goals

  • Provide training and development opportunities to enhance the skills and performance of the sales team

  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback

  • Customer Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders in the farm and ranch and agriculture industry

  • Identify and address customer needs and concerns to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction

  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with customer to secure long-term partnerships

  • Sales Operations:

  • Oversee the entire sales process, from lead generation to closing deals

  • Prepare and present regular sales reports and forecasts to senior management

  • Monitor and manage the sales budget to ensure cost-effective operations

  • Develop and implement a Customer Relationship Management program for prospecting and sales development

  • Market Expansion:

  • Identify and explore new markets and distribution channels for farm and ranch and agricultural products

  • Attend industry events, trade shows, and conferences to network and promote the company's products

  • Conduct market research to stay informed about industry developments and emerging trends

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales management, preferably in the farm and ranch, hardware and/or agriculture sector

  • Strong knowledge of agricultural products and the agriculture industry

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Proven ability to develop and implement successful sales strategies

  • Proficiency in using CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite

  • Ability to travel as required

Preferred Skills:

  • Advanced degree in Agriculture or Business Administration

  • Experience working with a diverse range of agricultural products

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
