Retail Sales Manager - Hardscapes

Gertens Retail Store is looking for a strong leader to join our Landscape Project Desk department. In this position you will drive hardscape sales and support all operational duties related to the success of Gertens Retail Store. You will maintain product and display quality while adhering to company policies and procedures. You will also grow your specialized product knowledge of Hardscapes and the Landscape field to ensure customers receive the highest level of customer service. You will also support other staff members and assist with scheduling and follow through of department checklists.

• Supervise, train and mentor team in customer service, store maintenance and product promotions

• Track and improve key performance measures.

• Provide excellent customer service to both employees and guests alike.

• Create and maintain an inviting and positive work environment.

• Work collaboratively with a cross-functional team.

• Demonstrates consistent initiative.

• Implement cross-training of employees maintaining productivity consistently and business plans.

• Manage all controllable costs with a view to maintaining profitability

• Hire and train as needed to ensure adequate staff is on hand to provide outstanding customer service.

Physical Requirements:

• Regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear.

• Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

• Frequently lift and/or move and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

• Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision, and ability to adjust focus

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years Retail Management and Sales.

• Bachelor's degree in business or related field, related experience preferred (Hardscape, Landscape/Green Industry)

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Proven leadership skills to lead and develop staff
