Directs the management of retail sales of products in assigned areas. Utilizing proper leadership and control, this individual ensures maximum profitable sales through professional leadership and intelligent customer service in a tem environment. Position requires demonstration of competency for all on the job activities that may have a direct or indirect affect on product safety, legality and/or quality and conform to BRC Global Standards. This position is classified as salaried. The driving of company vehicles and/or personal vehicles in furtherance of company business must be done in a manner that is consistent with all DOT and state requirements. Requires constant interaction with work group and other departments at the primary work location.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES/MAJOR DUTIES
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Provide Retail Sales and/or Operators with proper and necessary guidance, direction and assistance to achieve Company profit goals and compliance with all applicable policies and procedures (customer service requirements, equipment, and other sales-related areas, recruitment, retention, orientation, training, discipline, appraisal, safety, record keeping, EEO and other personnel-related areas.)
Assist in the development of Sales-related goals and communicate these goals to Retail Sales Coordinators and/or Operators, then provide on-going reinforcement and refinement.
On-going market report analysis of competitor activity (pricing, products, promotions, space, position, people, etc.).
Using the Thrift Store PC reports to determine Flowers units, dollar sales and profit margin.
Development of plans and relentless pursuit of new business.
Trains, monitors and develops staff.
Conduct period meeting with Retail Sales Coordinators and/or Operators to discuss and agree upon sales strategies, people management and other related business.
Train and direct retail sales coordinator and/or operators in the understanding and use of available information, including the professional presentation of this information to employees to blend company goals with customer/employee goals.
Monitor proper execution of stores, execution of settlements, proper distribution, ordering and freshness.
Prepare and explain sales history and sell our ideas to increase store profits and better serve the customer.
Develop, implement and promote a team environment where retail sales coordinators and/or operators monitor their stores and people; where their people have the best possible morale and competitive spirit.
Ensure orderly and proper stale recovery/relations with route sales managers.
Maintain close contact with the Vice President of Sales concerning all of the above matters and perform other duties as assigned.
Makes recommendations on disciplinary action and otherwise participates in disciplinary action process and necessary.
Ensures employee compliance with work rules
Complies with all company rules, policies and procedures (EEO, Harassment, Safety, Sarbanes Oxley, etc.).
Performance of other duties which are deemed by management to be an integral part of the job, including but not limited to fulfillment of work schedules, adherence to attendance policies, and other applicable operating rules, policies and procedures.
Two (2) or more years experience in Retail Sales Management. Two or more years Retail Sales and management experience.
Two year college degree in Business preferred. Completion of formal management skills training program.
