Job Summary: We are seeking a passionate, high energy sales person to join our retail route team! The Route Sales Driver is primarily responsible for the rollout of new products in local chain and independent grocery stores in the New Orleans Metro market. This individual will also assist with the existing territory and drive loyalty by calling on and delivering coffee, tea and equipment to existing food service accounts.
Responsibilities:
Builds effective partnership with local chain and independent grocery stores and other individually owned businesses
Assumes responsibility for maintaining and growing a profitable customer base by understanding customer needs and expectations, educating customers on products and effectively negotiating product pricing
Loads, unloads, stocks and rotates products to ensure appropriate inventory levels
Maintains an efficient routing schedule with flexibility based upon customer needs
Proactively seeks and acquires new business opportunities in the market
Stays abreast of competition within assigned territory and notifies supervisor on competitive situations regarding new products, selling tactics and pricing in an accurate and timely manner
Sets up product displays and equipment at customer locations, local festivals and company sponsored events
Fills in on routes as needed
Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
High school diploma/GED
A minimum of one year of overall sales experience, direct store delivery (DSD) route sales desirable
Previous experience in the consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry preferred
Experience troubleshooting and repairing beverage equipment a plus
Must be at least 18 years of age and hold a valid drivers license with a clean driving record
Passionate, high energy self-starter with competitive drive
Ability to work independently managing weekly work schedule
Effective communication skills with ability to deliver exceptional customer service
Demonstrated ability to handle a high volume of work, prioritizing and meeting deadlines
Detail oriented and possess strong organizational skills
Exposure to web-based CRM and other sales tools helpful
Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and/or hours outside the normal work schedule
Proficient in MS Office products
