The Retail Operations Specialist is responsible for providing regular oversight of all the operational functions performed by Retail in order to decrease errors, improve efficiency, and ensure compliance with all Retail operational procedures. The Specialist acts as a resolution resource for Retail team members as well as a Retail liaison for the Credit Union.
Other responsibilities include: audit and compliance training of branch staff; writing reports that detail branch audit findings for the Retail Leadership Team; and recommending best practices to improve operational and branch audit efficiencies. This position requires the ability to communicate sensitive information to senior levels of management in both written and verbal form.
Conducts surprise audits of the Retail operations functions and reports, including daily work such as monetary withdrawals/transfers/deposits, check hold procedure, account maintenance and account opening items and provides regular feedback to the Retail Leadership Team on branch quality and risk measures
Identifies areas of inefficiency within Retail operations and recommends changes to improve productivity and cost savings
Regularly informs back office support departments, Retail team members and Training & Development of any changes in retail processes; may attend centralized training classes on all Retail topic areas and ensures changes are implemented and/or updated in centralized training materials
Responsible for the oversight and reporting of specific General Ledgers and the generation of required reports for Retail; may travel to branches and aid branch management with the following: General Ledger reconciliation, research and resolution of cash differences and miscellaneous losses
With a solid working knowledge of Credit Union procedures, products and services, acts as a resource for Retail staff; uses good judgment to make effective and accurate decisions; provides overrides and approvals for various transactions and provides exceptional member service by responding to inquiries in a timely manner
Analyzes reports for all Retail and provides notification of potential trends and error patterns across Retail staff; provides employee-specific error notifications to the Retail Leadership team; creates and implements measures to address identified trends and patterns
Responsible for the oversight of Medallion Signature Guarantee and Notary programs; keeps track of authorized signers, provides training as needed and assists branch management and Retail staff with audit, document review and approvals
Interacts with BSA Monitor and Fraud Support to determine any areas of non-compliance with policies and regulations in Retail and notifies the Retail Operations Manager; reports all suspicious activity to the BSA Officer and Retail Leadership team
Identifies Credit Union wide communications which are critical to providing superior member service and sends reminders to Retail management; records and tracks critical communications to aide in Retail staff accountability
Serves as the primary contact point for IT issues related to branch equipment; partners with the Project Management team and Information Technology department to test new product roll outs and system upgrades that impact Retail; provides training when needed and ensures that branch operations are not negatively affected
Assists members when necessary and provides excellent member service while promoting Amplify Credit Union
Provides feedback regarding branch operational performance that may be reflected in the reviews of both Assistant and Branch Managers

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or GED required, plus at least three years of qualified experience in banking/credit union branch operations. College degree in a related area preferred. Must pass annual BSA/AML training at 80% or better.

Must be bondable.
Software & Equipment Requirements
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have knowledge and be proficient in the use of a personal computer; MS Office software, especially Excel; 10-key calculator and telephone. Prior experience with the following applications preferred but not necessary: Fiserv DNA; Easy Online; Onbase Imaging Systems.
The person in this position must have or be able to rapidly attain working knowledge of BSA requirements, the credit union's products and services, policies, Federal Credit Union Act including bylaws and regulations that apply to state chartered credit unions, Standard Operating Procedures and state and federal NCUA regulations.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. This position generally has indirect exposure to possible robbery, but may have direct exposure when in branches. This position has limited exposure to outside weather conditions when traveling between branches.

Starting pay for this position is $17.15/hour and up, depending on experience.
