Job Description:

We're hiring a Retail Operations Manager to work in the Northeast Region (Primarily Pennsylvania, New York and Massachusetts). In this role you will be responsible for sales and retail support for the vibrant and growing Farm & Ranch Agricultural Retail channel. This position is a customer facing, dynamic and consultative sales position that is key to our channel growth. Your success will be accomplished using industry leading sales tools and by developing relationships with retailer employees (store associates, team leaders, managers, district managers). The role also requires management of a third-party broker retail team.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Through the sales and training process, elevate the Purina Feed brand's/products in store conditions and presence to ever higher levels by influencing Farm & Ranch operations management.

  • Partner with retailer District Managers for training new and existing stores and selling in new and existing Purina products

  • Manage communication process between Purina Marketing, Field Sales and Retail Operations.

  • Manage and motivate broker retail team within a specified geographic area to execute against key retail/store business objectives.

  • Manage regional event support Attend headquarter sales calls on Regional and National Farm & Ranch retailers as needed

Education and Experience required:

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • 2-5 years' experience training at store-level with a focus on selling (consumer packaged goods or related retail)
  • Required Travel: 70% (2-3 overnight stays each week)

Competencies and other skills:

  • Time management

  • Self-starter; ability to develop your own execution for your territory against the strategic plan

  • Excellent versatility, organizational, communication, interpersonal, persuasive skills

  • Strong financial and analytical acumen; sales data analysis

  • Able to relate Purina business strategies for positive outcomes

  • Ability to manage shifting and multiple priorities, motivated, responsive manner with Shoppers and Retail store associates

  • Strong Public Speaking Skills

Preferred Experience and Education:

  • Agricultural and/or livestock background

  • Communication across platforms

  • Feed industry knowledge

  • Strong knowledge of agricultural retailers or related retail experience

In the US market, Continental provides solutions for the Passenger and Light Truck, Two-Wheel, and Commercial Vehicle segments. Our current opportunity is to become a part of the Commercial Vehicle Tire sales team. The commercial truck business continues to grow and operates in a highly competitive market. Continental's main advantage is the advanced technology solutions that are associated with our business, which differentiates us from our competitors. Therefore, we need a successful Territory Sales Manager in Central PA who drives sales for our new tires for the replacement market for commercial trucks and trailers. In this role, you would provide a consultative approach as expert and trusted business advisor in Continental products and services. Furthermore, you would integrate sales with promotion of new technologies and services, prospect new customers and maintain existing accounts in both dealers and fleets. There are about 85 Territory Sales Representatives who operate in the United States in many geographic territories. They report to District Managers, who then report to Region Managers. There are four regions in the US. The Territory Sales Managers mostly travel to customer locations, dealers and fleets, and mainly work from a home office environment. While most work is conducted independently, our team relies on key relationships with one another and our customers to be effective. The team has a unique bonus program, meant to incentivize volume sales as well as strategic targets. Responsibilities: * Retain and grow existing accounts and solicit new business by executing our sales strategy * Build a strong and trusting relationship with our customers in territory during regular site visits and sales calls * Develop and maintain sales activity at key regional fleets and dealers * Motivate our customers by offering high performance products, technology solutions as well as your product expertise * Own the launch process of our new products and services for successful integration into our product line * Monitor progress and adjust strategy by conducting market analysis and article forecasting * Resolve operational and administrative issues, respond internal and external inquiries, and prepare routine and special reports as required by management Job Requirements Required Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of experience OR high school diploma and 5+ years related professional experience is required. * 2+ years of outside sales experience, which may be in the tire, automotive, technology business, or another industry in which consultative sales skills are critical or 2+ years of Military employment. * Valid driver's license with responsible driving record * Ability to travel up to 50% by air and or car * Ability to comply physical demands, such as lifting, walking, sitting, squatting, and climbing around commercial vehicles. Lifting up to 75 pounds occasionally, including rolling, moving, or stacking. * Legal authorization to work in the US is required.
