We are currently seeking assistance in the office of one of our beautiful showrooms. The Office Assistant position is a great opportunity to work in an upbeat, fast-paced environment.

The Office Assistant will support sales associates, customers, and managers in the processing of payments, finance applications, and delivery questions, as well as various other office duties as assigned.

These fun, exciting and fast paced positions require strong verbal and written communication skills, with a preference given to candidates that are fluent in both English and Spanish, possess solid mathematical skills and an aptitude with computer programs like MS Office, have a desire to work with the public, and have the ability to work a flexible retail schedule (which includes two days off per week and will require working days, nights, weekends, and most holidays). Prior customer service and data entry experience is preferred but we are willing to train the right person.

What you will be doing * Maintains highest level of guest satisfaction by overseeing the delivery of quality guest services * Position is responsible for supervising nightly operations. May recommend and implement procedural, safety changes. Works forty to fifty hours over a five day period; scheduled days may vary based on need. * Responsible for assisting guests with check-in and check-out, plus all special requests for services or information, in accordance with corporate and local SOP's. Spends 80% of the time at the front desk. * Handles guest registration and room assignments, accommodating special requests whenever possible. Assists in pre-registration and blocking of reservations when necessary. * Meets with previous shift manager/supervisor for any pass on information. Reads and initials pass on logs. * Ensures proper staffing at front desk and AYS at all times. * Reviews Marriott Rewards,VIPand special requests for the day. Reviews room blocks for the day. * Reviews house counts hourly and determines selling strategy. Reviews and resolves any discrepancies with housekeeping. * Ensures the hotel's credit policies and check acceptance policies are followed. * Handles all guest problems with courtesy, concern and sincerity. * Assists in training of new associates and maintains constant training of clerks as cashiers. * Ensures all members of the staff are completely familiar with all hotel emergency procedures. * Is responsible for opening, closing, and balancing of shifts. * Works with desk clerks to balance at end of shift and ensures completion of shift checklist. * Reviews group cover sheets and event sheets daily to ensure that they are informed of all meetings/groups. * Answers the telephone promptly and courteously according to Marriott Standards when needed. Handles guest messages, mail and packages according to procedures if needed. * Greets all guests as they approach the desk; handles any guest questions and problems within empowerment guidelines. * Maintains a clean and organized work area. * Performs all duties of a Front Desk Agent, as needed. * Works closely with various departments and management including Hotel departments and Technical team for maintenance issues and random room inspections, performance audits and provides support to the staff to ensure productivity. * Identifies Workplace Safety opportunities, reports, recommends and implements possible solutions.. Ensure all areas are secured before leaving the shift. * Communicates on a daily basis with GM and department heads on opportunities during the shift. Follows through on any pending issues. * Assigns added responsibilities to Night Audit Supervisor, Night Houseman and Night Engineer as needed and ensures compliance. * Supervises the nightly operations to ensure compliance with standards and regulations, customer satisfaction and protection of the guests, staff and assets. * Continuously improves the hotel's ability to anticipate our guests' needs, to quickly and efficiently investigate the root causes of problems and to provide immediate and permanent resolution in order to enhance our guests' satisfaction prior to departure. * Responsible for knowing and abiding by all department, TPG and Marriott policies and procedures.
