Our part-time merchandisers play a critical role in helping our retail business customers best market and manage their products and retail space. Successful merchandisers are friendly, intelligent, reliable, self-starters who have a strong work ethic and a great attention to detail.

Merchandisers implement plan-o-grams, stock displays, restock shelves, install security fixtures and complete surveys and audits, among other responsibilities. While an entry position, there are leadership opportunities for those who have a passion for people and performance.

Job Qualifications:

A positive attitude.

The ability to think, solve and make decisions.

Smart phone and/or computer technology capable to accurately, remotely and on a timely basis accept, schedule and report on store visits along with work hours, photos, and travel expenses.

The ability to efficiently and correctly follow plan-o-grams.

18 or older with a valid drivers license and reliable transportation.

Able to meet the physical demands of the job which include standing, reaching, bending, crouching and on occasion lifting up to 40 pounds.

A belief in customer service.

The Import Specialist will develop and operate our Air/Ocean import service offerings. The individual will utilize their relationships, experience, problem solving, and analytical skills to help our customers. This position requires direct contact with our clients and our suppliers to ensure a high level of performance in the movement of goods through the supply chain. Arrange inbound cargo shipments from start to finish. Communicate with both internal and external customers. Investigate and resolve problem shipments. You will support the department with freight management functions involving import aspects of international transportation be it air, land or sea. This position provides a solid resources to build, adhere, and deliver service to internal and external customers within the Livingston network. Summary of Key Responsibilities Responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to the following: * Coordinate the routing of import bookings with airline and ocean carriers * Timely preparation of rates and quotes for customers and overseas agents * Support the development of existing and new customers by working closely with your Branch Manager and the entire sales organization * Collaborate and build relationships with customers, carriers, and agent representatives regarding air and ocean import to strengthen service competitiveness * Prepare all necessary shipping documentation related to international bookings and process all import documentation to clearing agents. * Dispatch pick-ups to authorized agents and drayage companies, shipping lines, airlines, trucking companies, clearing agents, warehouses, and all other parties involved in the shipment * Track and trace shipments, researching and resolving any issues regarding billing or shipping discrepancies, communicate timely correspondence back to both customers and vendors * Act as a liaison with Custom Brokers and agents, along with Ocean and Air Terminal Operators * Support your branches quarterly metrics while obtaining if not exceeding your individual metrics * Knowledge of company procedures and policies. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities * Self-motivated, assertive, and responds to branch metrics * Excellent Knowledge of Freight Forwarding and regulatory requirements with at least 2-4 years in industry. Reads, analyzes and interprets highly complex international regulations and procedures * Manages complex transactional or emotional customer situations promptly and professionally * Ability to work in a blended operations and customer development role * Operations skills and experience in the trucking and freight forwarding industry * Ability to negotiate rates in effort to route freight in the most cost effective manner Livingston is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace and is an affirmative action employer.
