This position will assist the Sr. Director of Advertising and Marketing in the development, implementation and execution of a strategic retail advertising and marketing plan. This individual is focused on identifying, developing, coordinating, and managing on-going marketing and promotional activities and assist retailers with marketing activities as requested. Provide backup support to the Public Relations Specialist when needed. Provide analytical support to Department and Division management on the performance of responsible programs as requested. Ensures all tasks are completed in accordance with stated deadlines and meet established expectations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Coordinates and oversees the day-to-day management of marketing programs and projects. Work closely with cross-functional departments to insure appropriate implementation. Specific programs include: Annual Marketing and Promotional Activity calendar, Tier 1 events, and certain holiday promotions and other special retail events.
Maintains theme/promotion and event plan and communicates to appropriate personnel including Creative Services, Procurement and Retail Promotions.
Provide layout recommendations for all Tier I events.
Coordinate and maintain enrollment sheets for vendor participation in marketing promotions/programs including Tier I events and other marketing tools that require additional marketing support from vendors.
Coordinate, organize and oversee the plans and execution of the food show activities as it pertains to vendor marketing efforts. This will also include vendor coordination for the events such as registration, timeline coordination, budget preparation, setup activities, etc.
Regularly contributes Across the Aisles and provide backup support for The Apple as well as other subsequent retail communication vehicles.
Writes reports, fliers, articles, news events, photographs, announcement sheets, enrollment sheets, correspondence, articles, etc. to support Marketing directives.
Works in conjunction with the company Creative Services department in setting deadlines and job requests for promotional materials. Must have thorough understanding of the company creative/production process.
Meets as needed with the Creative Services' staff. Confers with the Creative Services department for technical guidance and/or to coordinate production of graphic materials.
Meet as needed with the Retail Operations staff to communicate plans and objectives and deliver results of promotions.
Coordinate special event presentation activity for Retail Operations staff as requested such as special presentations for meetings, awards presentations (Creative Choice/NFRA), etc.
Work closely with Public Relations Specialist on community relations and donation projects, particularly as they pertain to retail marketing involvement, such as pin-up programs, Baton Rouge Food Bank projects, and other initiatives.
Coordination of other nonprofit retail marketing initiatives which involve planning partnerships with vendors as well as our retailers to create community connections that will be recognized, such as Knock Knock Children's Museum.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university in a relevant marketing field; and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Access database software; Excel spreadsheet software, Word (word-processing software), and PowerPoint.
