Moonbug is a kids entertainment company. We create and distribute great childrens entertainment to kids all over the world. Our shows are predominantly for pre-schoolers and are all created to support childrens development shows parents love that their kids love.

We started 4 years ago and have already grown to become the largest kids entertainment company on digital platforms in the world. We own some of the most popular digital kids IP in the world, including CoComelon, the biggest kids show on both Netflix and YouTube, Blippi, the biggest presenter-led kids show in the world, Little Baby Bum, My Magic Pet Morphle and many more.

Moonbugs shows are on more than 100 platforms globally, including YouTube, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Sky, Super RTL, BBC iPlayer, HBO Max, Tencent, Youku and Roku. In May of 2020, Tubular Labs named Moonbug one of the leading digital kids entertainment companies in the world based on the total number of minutes watched worldwide.

The companys YouTube channels are viewed over 9 billion times on average every month globally and has more than 440m subscribers. Its portfolio currently stands at 29 IPs and 100+ brand partners and is available in 32 languages.

The Role:

Moonbug Entertainment is seeking to hire a Retail Marketing Manager to join the rapidly growing Global Consumer Products team in Los Angeles. This role will support the Retail Development team in aligning resources, both internally & externally, to deliver bespoke retail programs at top accounts in North America and Latin America. The Retail Marketing Manager will work closely with the internal brand marketing teams, as well as 3rd party licensees to create marketing programs that deliver against the goals and objectives of both retailers and Moonbug.This role works on-site at our Los Angeles West Hollywood Office.


  • Manage the development of strategic marketing initiatives for top retailers in key territories across the USA, Canada, Mexico and Latin America territories.
  • Work with the retail development team, retail partners and licensees to develop best in class account plans to maximise opportunities for Moonbug and the retailer, incorporating trade/campaign support plans, in store space allocations, digital media programs, sales promotion initiatives, etc.
  • Align objectives, timings, mechanics and costs for key initiatives
  • Contribute to franchise consumer products strategic planning with internal team and external teams to identify and develop brand themes with retail marketing potential.
  • Ensure plans are consistent with overall retail strategies as well as specific brand strategies
  • Monitor and evaluate performance of key initiatives
  • Manage external agencies to implement marketing initiatives
  • Plan and manage trade marketing resource and materials and facilitate effective communication within the Retail Organisation of support available
  • Implementation of retail channel strategy initiatives
  • Oversee development of in store creative and merchandising
  • Other duties as assigned


  • 5+ years of consumer products or brand marketing or retailer experience with proven success in ideating, developing and executing retail promotions and marketing programs.
  • Collaborative style and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build consensus with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Understanding of licensing, retail and other consumer facing vertical categories
  • Strong understanding of channel management strategies
  • Sales and marketing experience
  • International experience desirable
  • Digital, social, and CRM marketing skills
  • Skilled in Keynote presentation development

This is a unique opportunity to be an important part of a growing Netflix initiative.</p><p>The Role:</p><p>You will be the Business &amp; Legal Affairs point person for the Consumer Products team in the US and Canada. The role will look after contract needs for licensees, retail marketing campaigns, collaborations with third party brands, halo/collab programs, as well as deal drafting and negotiation, creative review of product and marketing, and ongoing licensee management. Beyond the immediate Business &amp; Legal team and our business partners in Consumer Products, you will work closely with cross-functional partners in tax, accounting/finance, participations, and other partners across legal as you assess and review deals, marketing, and product creative.</p><p>In this role, you will collaborate closely with commercial executives and cross functional partners. You should be extremely comfortable counseling commercial partners and making decisions that have both legal and business impacts, and should be adept at developing and fostering relationships.</p><p>This role will be based in Los Angeles, CA, and will report into the Head of Business &amp; Legal Affairs for Consumer Products &amp; Experiences.</p><p>REQUIREMENTS:</p><p>The successful candidate will have 6+ years of relevant experience as a lawyer working in consumer products (experience working as in house counsel for a brand, studio, media or production company preferred).</p><p>Responsibilities:</p><ul><li><p>Support the UCAN consumer products (licensing, retail and publishing) team end-to-end. Act as business affairs and legal advisor on all aspects of licensing and merchandising, including strategy, rights, manufacturing, health and safety, risk management, category management, licensee procurement, product development, and marketing. Collaborate with colleagues in other regions on global deals, or special projects.</p></li><li><p>Assist paralegal/rights administrator on legal issues arising from complex rights inquiries.</p></li><li><p>Review and advise on licensee marketing campaigns and creative, including review and analysis of guild/union and talent issues.
