Job Description Job Description Overview: We are seeking a part-time or full-time Retail Key Holder that demonstrates the highest level of leadership in support of exemplary customer service.
Our Retail Key Holders are business drivers whose key role is to attain and exceed sales goals and delight customers by leading and owning all customer facing and operational elements within their store. LAPG plans on opening more retails stores soon and we want to promote from within. Becoming a Retail Key Holder is the first step in advancing into a retail management position.
Job Summary: The Part-Time/Full-Time Key Holder is responsible for opening and/or closing the store and ensuring that proper store procedures and policies are followed when store management is not on duty or unavailable on the floor. The Key Holder will supervise all employees and oversee sales, merchandising, guest service and all operational functions in the absence of store management.
The Key Holder helps drive the business through leadership and is actively involved in ensuring an outstanding customer experience. Key Holders should be assertive, analytical and trustworthy as a leader of our business. They utilize applied learning to evolve as a business leader and improve store results.
The Key Holder helps lead a team of associates to ensure operational tasks and procedures are successful as well as opening and closing routines are completed, all while keeping the customer at the center of everything we do. Essential Functions: · Opening/closing the store, ensure registers are properly opened and closed each day and reconcile daily deposits accurately according to open/close and till procedure checklists. · Open and closes the store following proper procedures documented in the opening and closing checklist. · Ensure that registers are properly opened and closed, doors are opened and locked and alarms are set correctly. · Confirm that deposit slips, spreadsheets, envelops and deposit bags are correctly filled out and discrepancies are reconciled and cleared by accounting. · Ensure daily merchandising procedures, daily replenishment, Key Corporate Communications, and store cleanliness standards are properly executed when opening or closing. · Supervise employees to complete tasks and achieve goals in the absence of store management. · Manage sales floor and drives retail and alterations business by: addressing guest concerns, coaching employees, and mitigating product loss in the absence of store management. · Execute Key Holder responsibilities such as return, exchange, Special Orders, and check approvals. · Remain current on all company policies and ensures that all policies, standards and procedures are maintained and followed in a consistent manner. · Stays current and up-to-date on all store systems. · Ensure all team members are informed on current sales or promotions in store for the day. · Verify all members of the team are greeting and engaging all customers that enter the store and create a pleasant shopping atmosphere. · Assist customers with product questions, check inventory levels at alternate LAPG locations, and advise customers on the right products to suit their needs, etc. · Diffuse any customer complaints and provide exceptional customer service to ensure repeat business. · Receive merchandise into the store’s inventory according to the shipping and receiving guidelines. Help ensure product is placed on sales floor in a timely manner. · Process Bi-weekly Transfer Orders back to the Warehouse (damaged, online orders, slow movers.) · Identify sales opportunity, new products, low inventory, ROP evaluations, customer requests. · Communicate efficiently and effectively with the store manager and corporate to remedy all store issues and needs. · Facilitate merchandise needs and restock any items that need to be replenished or reset. · Fold merchandise and keep displays neat and orderly. · Regularly check fitting rooms for go-backs and theft. · Contribute to the cleanliness of the store by performing tasks such as dusting, vacuuming, cleaning, mopping, sweeping, emptying trash, etc. · Work with an awareness of activity in the store to engage in loss prevention and minimize shrink. · Help meet monthly, quarterly and annual sales goals. · Cross sell/upsell merchandise to complete the sale. · Test and/or wear products to promote current sales or newly released merchandise. · Promote a positive work environment for all team members and customers. · Other tasks otherwise not specified.
Skills: · Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and NAV. · Advanced knowledge of products and services in store. · Clear understanding of POS procedures. · Ability to work quickly and efficiently with attention to detail and accuracy with assertiveness. · A passion for customer service and a strong work ethic. · Ability to handle difficult situations effectively and patiently. · Excellent attendance and flexible work schedule that includes mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays and occasionally overnight. · Knowledge of merchandising. · Sales oriented. · Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. · Ability to multitask and able to adapt to new situations. · Excellent time management. · Friendly, good natured and patient demeanor. · Cash handling experience. Qualifications: · Associates degree, 2 yrs. relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience; a concentration in retail operations preferred. · 2 yrs. of progressively responsible retail management experience; supervisory experience is preferred. · Demonstrated competency in sales, products and service. · Proven ability to motivate and lead diverse teams. · Proven ability to provide a superior customer experience and drive customer loyalty. · Knowledge of retail merchandising practices. · Solid communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are also essential. · Scheduling flexibility is required. Must be able to work a combination of opening, evening, weekend, and holidays. · Must be 18 years or older. · Fluent in English required, fluent in Spanish a plus.
Physical Job Requirements: · Standing on a constant basis. Minimum 4-8 hours. · Walking, bending, kneeling, squatting, and stooping on a regular basis. · Regularly pull and lift objects up to 30 lbs. · Handle, feel, and reach with hands and arms. · Ability to use cleaning equipment · Ability to use all store equipment including scanners, cash registers, computers, copiers, etc. · Ability to view screens, tags, merchandise and payment methods. · Occasionally ascend or descend ladders, stairs and ramps. · Schedule flexibility is required. Must be able to work a minimum of 5, 5 hour shifts during morning and evening hours.
