Responsible for the daily management of the Retail Division's incentive compensation plan to include elements of plan design and administration, and incentive calculation and payment.
With a solid understanding of divisional profitability and strategic direction, prepares and delivers recommendations to senior management on overall plan design for Retail and develops the mechanisms to support the plans.
Assumes significant responsibility in decision-making with regard to the principles upon which plans are designed and tracking mechanisms are built in order to ensure compliance with plan language and audit requirements.
With a required extensive knowledge of the bank's core and supporting systems, calculates incentive compensation.
Responsible for the information management function which includes the development and management of various forms of sales, operational, and performance measurement, as well as all divisional communications.
Manages a staff of individuals to support the data and communication needs for the division.
Manages and/or engages in the creation, validation, analysis of, and dissemination of routine and ad hoc reports for Retail Banking.
Provides insight and advice on effective use of the bank's systems to automate and standardize reporting procedures.
Prepares and delivers presentations regarding related divisional initiatives to large groups of individuals, often times divisional management, as well as to smaller groups that often include Executive Management.
Manages a portion of the Retail Division's operating budget.
Stays abreast of industry trends and corporate strategies so that s/he may make appropriate decisions as to how they impact forecasted deposit balances, related service charge income streams, and numerous direct expense categories.
Attends budget strategy meetings, performs budget entry, and ensures the final budget reconciles for the Division.
On an ongoing basis, maintains a full understanding of the Division's position vs. budget across all categories and prepares variance explanations to senior management.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree preferred and/or 4-6 years of Retail Banking experience.
Advanced knowledge of MS Access and Excel.
Demonstrable experience with application of analysis and critical thinking.
Experience with, and proficiency in bank's core and supporting systems preferred.
Incumbent should be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment, manage large projects, and be self-motivated. Sound decision-making abilities, technical proficiency, and strong interpersonal skills are a must. Some management experience is also preferred as this position leads a small team.
