Gettysburg College Dining Services is a self-operated food service provider managing a comprehensive collegiate food service program delivering high quality, contemporary and innovative food and hospitality services to meet the various needs of students, faculty, staff and visitors in a fiscally responsible manner. Our team operates a progressive resident dining program for approximately 2500 students including all-you-care-to-eat dining, three retail operations and catering services.
The Retail Dining Manager is responsible for the effective management of multiple retail dining operations including financial accountability, personnel management, staff development, customer satisfaction, marketing and promotional initiatives and program development. The Retail Dining Manager provides leadership, drives quality and efficiency in the areas of customer service, food production, menu development, product selection, quality control, sanitation, housekeeping, merchandising, and marketing and promotions.
The Retail Dining Manager is responsible for inventory control, product forecasting and food and supplies ordering, monitoring operating procedures, implementing and evaluating products/service offerings, hiring, training, and supervising staff with a team of five Retail Dining Supervisors. The Retail Dining Manager is responsible for compliance with department quality standards and local ordinances and college policies, maintaining excellent customer service, handling cash appropriately and operating, troubleshooting, and training others in the use of the department's POS system. The Retail Dining Manager oversees proper merchandising and marketing materials within each retail operations. Other duties including scheduling, product evaluation, and attending meetings.
