The Retail Banker is responsible for the growth of consumer and business customer relationships, while delivering the Woodforest Experience to every customer, every day, every time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Achieve individual sales by proactively identifying, marketing, and recommending bank products and services beneficial to the customer.

  • Enhance customer experience and the reputation of the Bank by warmly and sincerely greeting, engaging, and developing relationships with customers, community members, and retail partners.

  • Demonstrate flexibility to perform all other duties as assigned.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Exhibit operational excellence through diligent adherence to policies and procedures.

Practice branch security procedures and protect customer confidentiality and privacy.

  • Perform branch servicing duties such as paying and receiving, cash and vault balancing, ordering cash, cards, reports, audits, control checks, maintaining and servicing automated teller machines, as well as cleaning work areas.

Open and perform account maintenance on depository accounts and loans.

  • Demonstrate ownership in the resolution of customer inquiries and/or concerns at the frontline or by appropriately engaging with internal resources.

  • Must be proactive when seeking business outside of the branch.

  • Must be open to direct coaching and feedback.

  • Ability to work flexible or extended working hours to meet business needs; demonstrated reliability.

  • Demonstrate a passion for taking care of people by exhibiting effective problem-solving abilities, the ability to maintain composure and convey a positive attitude while interacting with customers as well as internal team members.

  • Knowledge of/or ability to quickly learn products, services, policies, procedures, regulatory guidelines, as well as engaging in a sales and service process.

  • Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality, follow directions, and apply proper policies, procedures and guidelines.

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and multi-task in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Ability to understand instructions, forms, applications, and be familiar with financial statements and credit reports.

Minimum Qualifications/Experience:

  • 3 years of relevant and transferable sales and/or customer service experience;

  • OR an Associate's degree and 1 year of relevant and transferable sales and/or customer service experience;

  • OR a Bachelor's degree.

  • Previous instore banking experience is preferred, but not required.

  • Must be positive and engaging.

Formal Education & Certification:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Work Status:

  • Full-time.

Supervisory Responsibility:

  • No.


  • Little to no overnight travel expected. Based on the occasional business need, you may be expected to cover nearby branch locations up to 45 miles from your assigned branch location.

Working Conditions:

  • Conditions include standing most of the time, may involve walking, moving, bending, stooping or sitting for brief periods, and occasionally lifting and carrying items up to 30 lbs.

The role comes with an aggressive $100k-120k salary plus negotiable override. </p><p><strong>Responsibilities</strong>: The Retail Lending Market Manager will manage Retail Lending sales activities with the goal of increasing closed loan volume across an assigned geographic area, with a key focus on consistent day to day sales activities as well as the promotion and accounting of such activities. The Retail Lending Market Manager will maintain weekly contact with all assigned offices and make personal visits to branch locations a minimum of every calendar quarter. This position requires the individual to set and manage sales goals for their assigned branches and promote business opportunities in the assigned areas. The individual is also responsible to coaching, supporting, and mentoring Branch Managers and Loan Officers toward achieving their respective sales goals.</p><p>This position requires the individual to work independently and in a team environment, and to lead a team of sales professionals that will work directly with the public to meet their mortgage lending needs. In addition, the person must present themselves in a consistently professional manner and should model the company&rsquo;s values.</p><p>Key position functions:</p><p><strong>Lending Management </strong>&bull; Identify and assist in the targeting of mortgage referral sources. &bull; Lead &amp; coordinate marketing efforts via meetings, presentations and/or workshops. &bull; Monitor and manage mortgage loan sales against targets by tracking all recorded sales and activity schedules. &bull; Provide Branch Managers/Loan Officer&rsquo;s with necessary information and effective engagement plans on new sales activities/ opportunities. &bull; Focus sales activities at branch level &bull; Coordinate and implement consistent and proper use of CRM system. Additional duties include pipeline maintenance and loan file flow with a focus on quality loan submissions from their assigned sales&rsquo; people.</p><p><strong>People Management </strong>&bull; Facilitate partnership with assigned area to stimulate business growth without compromising risk &amp; loan quality. &bull; Educate, mentor and direct Branch/Sales Managers/Loan Officers in the general knowledge and application of loan programs. &bull; Responsible to handle and manage proper communications between sales and operations staff.</p><p><strong>Qualifications </strong>&bull; Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree or 3-5 years&rsquo; experience in a related field.
