Retail Accounting - Staff Accountant

Position Overview:

As the Staff Accountant you will be responsible for handling the accounting duties for the company owned entities and retail accounting customers.

Responsibilities:

• Reviewing and preparing financial statements in a timely manner with accuracy

• Maintaining efficient and accurate operations for all phases of the accounting cycle including but not limited to payables, receivables, payroll, inventory, reporting etc.

• Preparing monthly reconciliations of general ledger accounts and bank statements

• Recording journal entries

• Analyzing and interpreting financial information such as balance sheets, cash flow and income statements

• Preparing budgets and ad hoc analysis as needed

• Identifying and implementing process improvements

• Developing and maintaining sound internal controls and ensuring ongoing compliance

• Answering inquiries from customers by analyzing and interpreting information

• Maintaining professionalism and confidentiality practices regarding company information

• Prioritizing and managing multiple tasks simultaneously ensuring deadlines are met accordingly

• Building and maintaining positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders

• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership

Environment:

• Warehouse Office - approx. 65F - 70F

Schedule:

• Monday - Friday

• Standard Business Hours

Experience:

• Preferred: One (1) - Three (3) years experience in Accounting & knowledge of GAAP

• Preferred: Bachelors degree of Science in Accounting

• Preferred: Proficiency in office software such as Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace etc

Skills:

• Physical abilities: Ability to stand, walk and sit throughout your day; Walking on a variety of flooring such as carpet, concrete, tile etc.

• Strong communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with peers and leaders on a daily basis

• Organizational Skills: Ability to fulfill executive directions in a timely manner; ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
