Restore-L Payload Integration and Test Lead (Job Number:440858)
SAIC is seeking a senior-level integration and test engineer and manager on the NASA OMES II contract in support of the Restore-L program in the Satellite Servicing Projects Division (SSPD) at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center.
The Restore-L mission is currently executing a number of laboratory tests to refine the design of the spacecraft's Servicing Payload leading up to the Mission Critical Design Review. These tests will serve to validate system-level requirements. The engineer will lead the Restore-L Payload Integration & Test team and will be responsible for the planning and execution of the Restore-L payload integration and test campaign. The engineer will leverage their extensive knowledge and expertise in space-flight hardware, integration, and test as well as systems engineering and management. As Restore-L is an in-house fabrication and integration effort, the engineer will also be responsible for overseeing the integration of the payload flight hardware.
As the Restore-L payload integration and test lead, the engineer will be responsible for managing the workforce, budget, and schedule of the subsystem and providing regular status on progress, risks, and issues to Restore-L management. The engineer will also be responsible for developing documentation and presentation materials for NASA reviews (critical design review, program status reviews, etc.).
Specific responsibilities and requirements include:
Requirements flow, verification, and validation
Development of test plans and procedures
EGSE manufacturing and testing
Analytical troubleshooting of hardware interfaces
Flight hardware handling, integration, and testing
Design testbed block diagrams, interconnections, and layouts to meet test objectives
Design and partition test cases to provide required coverage to meet objectives
Devise test operational sequences, scenarios, and procedures to execute test
Support execution of tests by directing test activities and/or operating hardware under test
Plan development and integration activities for hardware testbeds
Write test plans describing test objectives, overview, required resources, and schedule
Generate design requirements for and/or review harness drawings
Locate and select EGSE components from suppliers
Write step-by-step flight component acceptance test procedures and non-flight component integration procedures
Write Work Order Authorizations (WOAs) to execute step-by-step tests and procedures
Write test reports to document tests performed, describe configurations, and summarize results
Produce presentation packages for and present at Project and subsystem design reviews
Bachelors degree from an accredited institution plus thirteen (13) years or more experience.
Knowledge of NASA hardware standards
