Restorative Nurse Assistant
Licensure: Texas Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) Certificate
Models a service attitude towards others, takes ownership in solving problems and takes the initiative to make things better, is friendly and courteous to residents, patients and co-workers
Ensure resident/patient, visitor, and co-worker safety by remaining aware of and reporting any new or existing safety hazards
Performs routine restorative and preventative nursing procedures including but not limited to R.O.M., ambulation/transfer, passive/active exercises, specialized retraining program (feeding, ADL's, etc.) and splinting
Instruct and encourage, as needed, residents and families in goals, procedures and /or restorative services
Participates in the formulation, implementation and revision of the resident's plan of care for the assigned units
Apply and use restorative care equipment and supplies (i.e. splints, pillows, walkers) safely and according to policy and procedure
Makes routine rounds throughout the assigned units, to observe the appropriate use of restorative equipment
Follow all infection control guidelines during the performance of restorative care
Observe residents for change of condition which would necessitate need for restorative program and refer for follow-up
Maintain clinical records that reflect the restorative care provided during the assigned shifts and procedures performed
Other duties as assigned by Nursing Clinical Coordinator
Education: High school graduate or GED Preferred
Possession of a valid Texas Certified Nurse Assistant certification
Proficient ability to communicate orally and in writing in the English language
Six months experience in providing personal care in a long-term care facility
Ability to work independently with little or no supervision
Ability to adjust to changing conditions, frequent demands and stressful situations
Ability to acquire new knowledge to perform additional or more difficult tasks
Genuine caring for and interest in the care of mature adults, handicapped people and hospice Patients
WORK PACE: Self-paced, requiring the ability to work quickly and accurately in an often times fast-paced, demanding work area
