The Restorative Aide ensures the quality of patient care for all populations served from young adulthood to geriatrics on the age continuum by meeting the nursing needs of the patient, physician, and patient's family in full compliance with the Hospital's quality assurance program.
Under the direction of the Patient Care Manager, ensure on-going evaluation and reporting of the mobility of the patient's assigned to the Restorative Aide, by maintaining accurate records of their ability to ambulate and perform range of motion.
Effectively execute medical staff directives and nursing and physical therapy directives by assisting patient's meals, self care, ambulating and performing active and passive range of motion. Assist nursing attendants in transferring patients and conduct exercise class when necessary.
Actively contribute to the total well being of the patient by maintaining an environment which is therapeutic and conducive to meeting patient needs.
Ensure the quality of the nursing effort by staying abreast of change sin the field (e.g. participating in nursing and departmental education programs) and incorporating this knowledge into the duties and responsibilities of the position.
Ensure nursing equipment is functioning properly by regular inspection of equipment used and reporting any malfunctions to Maintenance after taking it out of service.
OTHER SKILLS, ABILITIES & KNOWLEDGE:
Ability to understand and follow directions.
Ability to communicate verbally and orally in English.
Should have training in range of motion, ambulation, and gait training.
