As a part of the Telecare Family, La Paz is a 148 bed Gero-Psychiatric center which serves adults 55 and older.

Shifts Available:

Full Time; AM 7:00 am - 3:30 pm; Days vary as needed and/or based on work availability

Expected starting wage range is $22.97 - $28.38. Telecare applies geographic differentials to its pay ranges. The pay range assigned to this role will be based on the geographic location from which the role is performed. Starting pay is commensurate with relevant experience above the minimum requirements.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Restorative Nurse Aide provides restorative exercises and treatment to members served under the supervision of the Physical Therapist and/or Rehabilitation Therapist.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Demonstrates the Telecare mission, purpose, values and beliefs in everyday language and contact with internal and external stakeholders

• Provides safe, effective and efficient implementation of direct care in accordance with established policies, procedures and standards of care

• Establishes and maintains a therapeutic relationship with persons served

• Carries out restorative exercises and treatments as assigned, including:

o routine active range of motion exercises

o active/assistive range of motion exercises

o passive range of motion with Physical Therapist supervision

o positioning

o transfers

o ambulation (gait training requires a Physical Therapist's direct supervision).

o whirlpool, as applicable

• Plans and leads exercise groups for members served capable of working within a group setting

• Reviews and implements members served treatment plans regarding restorative care

• Takes all appropriate measures necessary to insure the safety of persons served

• Must assist with restraint of members served in the event of assaultive behavior and pass assault crisis/crisis prevention training

Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted and/or changed at the discretion of management.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

• C.N.A. required

• R.N.A Certifications required

• Three (3) months of experience with individuals requiring restorative exercises and treatments

• Two (2) years college courses with an emphasis on rehabilitation

• Must be at least 18 years of age

• Must be CPR, Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI), and First Aid certified on date of employment or within 60 days of employment and maintain current certification throughout employment

• All opportunities at Telecare are contingent upon successful completion and receipt of acceptable results of the applicable post-offer physical examination, 2-step PPD test for tuberculosis, acceptable criminal background clearances, excluded party sanctions, and degree or license verification. If the position requires driving, valid driver's license, a motor vehicle clearance, and proof of auto insurance is required at time of employment and must be maintained throughout employment. Additional regulatory, contractual, or local requirements may apply.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The employee is occasionally required to sit, squat, kneel, twist, push, pull and lift and carry items weighing 25 pounds or less as well as to frequently walk, stand, bend, reach and do simple and power grasping. The position requires manual deviation, repetition and dexterity as well as Hazardous Exposure (Blood Borne Pathogens, Hospital Waste, Chemical & Infectious).
