Title: Restorative In-School Support Program Assistant

Anticipated Opening for the 2024/2025 School Year- This position is contingent upon sufficient funding and School Committee approval.

POSITION SUMMARY:

To assist the RISS Coordinator in the daily Tier 2 behavioral interventions for select students.

Methuen Public Schools enrolls approximately 7000 in a total of five schools. Methuen Public Schools has four PK-8 schools: the Comprehensive Grammar School, the Marsh Grammar School, the Tenney Grammar School, the Timony Grammar School, and one comprehensive high school: Methuen High School. TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma required with associates degree or higher preferred

Bilingual preferred - Primary languages spoken in the community are: English, Spanish, Arabic, and French.

• Experience working with young children primarily in grades 3-8.

• Experience assisting in program implementation.

• Ability to work with professional staff.

• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with students.

• Work with students of diverse backgrounds with diverse needs in an equitable and inclusive manner.

• Maintain appropriate confidentiality.

• Strong collaboration skills and able to work in a team setting.

• Outstanding preparation and/or experience may be substituted for some of the above qualifications

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Monitor students receiving Tier 2 behavioral management of select students (In-school time outs, In school Suspensions)

• Collect and return classwork from teachers for students as directed by the RISS Coordinator.

• Provide academic support as needed

• Collect data
