We are seeking a Restorative Aide to assist in our Rehabilitation Dept to help our patients and residents achieve a better quality of life. This is hands-on work that aims to make a difference in the lives of our patients and their families.
Summary
In this role you would assist residents and patients with exercises designed to help them attain and maintain the use of limbs or body functions according to the plan of care developed by the nursing or rehabilitation departments.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Assists patients with transfers and walking.
Assists patients with range of motion and strength training exercises.
Communicates and documents service and any condition changes.
Assists resident / patient with dressing / grooming.
Assists resident / patient with amputation and prosthesis care.
Assists with eating and swallowing exercises.
Applies and monitors splinting.
Maintains proper documentation of records regarding patient care that is reviewed routinely by DoN or nursing designee.
Assists with exercised to develop patient cognitive and communication skills.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum high school diploma or equivalent or one to three months related experience and / or training.
Certified Nursing Assistant with one to three (1-3) years of relevant experience.
Must complete company restorative modules.

Conducts intakes, evaluations and/or assessments for inmates identified as awaiting a competency evaluation, awaiting competency restoration services, are suspected of becoming incompetent to proceed while in jail, or are returning from an OBH designated inpatient restoration facility after receiving restoration services and meet any of the following: a. Have a serious and persistent mental health disorder b. Are experiencing acute psychosis or major mood dysregulation c. Have a previous competency history 2. Work closely with the The Bridges Program Liasion, the Forensic Navigator, the courts, OBH and CMHI-P 3. Perform evaluations to properly document the mental health diagnosis, level of care, prescribed psychotropic medications, any identifiable cognitive impairments, treatment of services in the jail and a copy of the initial plan of care 4. Provide a discharge plan upon completion of competency process 5. Comply with all data reporting requirements as outlined and specified by OBH and shall record this this data in an electronic system specified by OBH. Data collection includes: a. Date competency was raised by court b. Date of jail screening c. Date of jail mental health evaluation d. Jail Treatment Level of Care e. Date of psychotropic medication ingestion occurs f. Provide consultation to security and healthcare staff regarding inmate's behavior, safety concerns or their mental health concerns. 7. Communicates effectively with mental health, medical, and security staff as well other entities involved with inmate's continuity of care Required Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: * Active licensure required.Will consider LPCC if actively working on attaining hours toward LPC. * Two years of professional experience in the program area. * Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology, MA Counseling (LPC), MA Clinical Social Work (LCSW), Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy (LMFT) * Correctional mental health experience is preferred KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must be well organized and possess detailed assessment skills. Vision - Dual vision is not required. Single eye correctable vision is acceptable. Minimum peripheral vision for single vision is 900 on the ear side and 700 on the nose side. Frequently uses peripheral vision to observe and monitor multiple persons and activity. 2. Hearing - Dual hearing is required. When tested by use of an audiometric device, does not have an average hearing loss in the better ear greater than 40 decibels at 500 Hz, 1000 Hz, and 2000 Hz with or without a hearing aid when the audiometric device is calibrated to American National Standard. Mental health staff are constantly required to listen to multiple audible inputs simultaneously such as portable radio conversations, telephone conversations, conversations with inmates or others, noises within the housing units. 3. Sense of Smell - Intact. Occasionally uses olfactory sense to detect illegal use of drugs or chemicals. Occasionally uses the olfactory sense to evaluate the presence of toxic vapors, smoke, and fuels. 4. Speech - Mental health staff must have the ability to speak and understand English clearly within normal parameters.
