The Restorative Aide is a Certified Nurse Aide that has had special training in rehabilitation care. This position is responsible for helping to develop, implement and facilitate our Restorative program within our facility. This position reports to the Director of Nursing & Restorative Program Coordinator.
Helps to implement & facilitate Restorative Nursing Program throughout the facility
Works with nursing administration to develop Restorative Nursing policies, procedures, systems, and new programs
Actively participates in the restorative committee.
Restorative Care Functions
Oversees functional assessment upon admission and monthly assessments, while residents are on the program.
Works closely with the therapists, ensuring that specific recommendations are carried out following discharge from therapy
Help implement care program that is assigned to specific resident(s).
Follows the restorative plan of care, making sure that all restorative needs and care are addressed and ensures that all measures are reflected
Follows and helps maintain Master List of all residents on varying levels of their Restorative Nursing Program
Accurately document flow sheets for each resident
Visit with the Restorative Charge RN regarding weekly documentation
Participates in the development and implementation of the resident assessment (MDS) as related to the restorative care
Assists with the transfer process from varying levels.
May be required to attend Care Conference and makes recommendations and/or reports on progress and maintains a liaison relationship with residents and families
Completion of Certified Nurse Aide course. Two (2) years experience in LTC and knowledge of LTC regulations preferred. Understands the philosophy, principles, and techniques for restorative nursing. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
