The Omni Richmond prides itself on having a bi-annual management training class where current associates participate in a 6 month program to prepare them for advancing their careers.Job DescriptionThe Server is responsible for assembling and delivering orders to the guest's room.Responsibilities*
  • omplete knowledge of service time, menu and specials * Prepare, deliver and serve orders using Moments of Service * Inquire if additional service is needed * Responsible for each check * Pick up trays and tables * Responsible for set-up, delivery and presentation of amenities * Must consult with supervisor on any food pick up difficulty * Attend all designated staff meetings and training sessions * Complete any tasks and side duties assigned by manager * Responsible for maintenance and cleanliness of room service areas * Aid guests in locating other areas of the hotel (walk them to the destination if possible)* Adhere to cash handling standards * Follow all company policies and procedures; ensure clean uniform and professional personal appearance; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets * Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions; complete safety training and certificationsQualifications * Room Service experience is preferred but willing to train * Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays* TIPs and Food Handler certifications are required prior to starting

Essential Functions and Other Job Information: * Performs a variety of sample and standard tasks (receipt, check-in, login, labeling, launching, inventory, transport, check-out, etc. May participate in physical return and disposal of materials in support of the laboratory. * Communicates status of samples / standards to appropriate laboratory staff. * Guides and advises laboratory staff in sample / standard procedures. * Completes investigation and deviation forms as necessary, and determines appropriate CAPAs. * Reviews and provides feedback on laboratory requests, ensuring compliance with applicable SOPs. * Trains on SOPs, regulatory guidelines, and storage requirements. Responds to environmental unit alarms and participates in on-call responsibilities. * Performs work assignments accurately and in a timely and safe manner Qualifications: Education and Experience: High / Secondary school diploma or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification Technical positions may require a certificate Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to at least 2 years) or equivalent combination of education, training, & experience. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: * Basic knowledge of inventory flow and control * Knowledge of laboratory and regulatory requirements (documentation, sample storage) * Ability to write/review SOPs and process improvement outlines * Familiarity with Microsoft Office including Word and Excel * Good written and oral communication skills * Effective time management and project management skills * Problem solving/troubleshooting abilities * Ability to work in a collaborative team environment Working Conditions and Environment: * Work is performed in a regulated environment. Ability to work in sub-frozen environments (all levels). * Ability to prioritize assignments and work within potentially stressful deadlines * Exposure to biological fluids with potential exposure to infectious organisms. May also include shift work. Physical Requirements: * Frequently stands, twists waists, squats, and bends neck for 4--6 hours per day. * Repetitive hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists. Ability to make precise coordinated movements, of the fingers to grasp and manipulate objects. * Frequent mobility required. * Occasional crouching, stooping, bending and twisting of upper body and neck. * Moderate lifting (or otherwise movement, carrying, setting, and placement)of 15-40 lbs. with a maximum lift of 50 lbs. * Ability to access and use a variety of computer software developed both in-house and off-the-shelf.
