Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years as a manager in a full service (table service with full bar) restaurant.

  • Solid track record of success in previous assignments demonstrating upward career tracking.

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Must be dependable, reliable and motivated.

  • Able to work ten hour-plus shifts, plus ability to stand, sit, squat or walk for extended periods of time.

  • Must be able to work closing shifts and evenings as needed.

  • Able to grasp, reach overhead, push, lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

VIEW JOBS 1/22/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-04-21T00:00 Overview The General Manager is responsible for the efficient, professional and profitable operation of the food service operations at the assigned Spectra venue. The GM of F&B will additionally oversee the merchandise division on-site at the NBT Bank Stadium. This individual oversees every managerial, f/t and p/t position, and ensures full compliance with state and federal labor laws, sanitation and food-related ordinances, and alcohol service regulations. In addition to managing the day to day business operations, the General Manager solicits new sources of revenue, both on and off the venue property. This position is based at our NBT Bank Stadium. NBT Bank Stadium, with 11,117 seats, is the now the home of the New York Mets affiliated Syracuse Mets of the International League. Ample parking, affordable tickets, great sports merchandise shops and the chance to see up close the major league stars of tomorrow make the NBT Bank Stadium experience a must on everyone's summer schedule. The full service Hank Sauer Room restaurant (available to groups by reservation only) is an ideal setting for sports themed affairs and game night dinners, with patio and picnic areas also available for birthday and corporate parties. You can learn more about our venue here: http://www.onondagacountyparks.com/ Responsibilities * Ensure legal, efficient, professional and profitable operation of the assigned Spectra venue. * Generate and review financial reports, including budgets, projections, forecasting, revenue analysis, disbursements, capital investments, labor and product costs, wage and salary control, P&L financial statements. Prepares required reports accurately and submits them on time, follows up with department heads to ensure that their reporting is completed within the same guidelines. * Final decision-maker on equipment purchases, leases, hires, etc. * Conflict resolution; last-resort mediation; arbitration and labor negotiations, when applicable. * Analyze ticket sales in relation to anticipating staffing needs, target market demographics; determine and project point-of sale to guest ratio. * Evaluate recent historical sales and purchasing data for the purpose of identifying purchasing patterns and accurate cost of goods. * Develops an effective management team, and provides each manager with the proper direction and follows up on all assignments. Evaluates each manager's performance and makes recommendations for their improvement. * Inspects the operation on a regular basis to ensure that the established quality standards are maintained. * Reviews and assists in the development of menus and marketing plans with the appropriate department heads. * Establishes and maintains personal relationships with client, show managers, suppliers, vendors and the public that projects the venue in a positive light. Qualifications * MA or MS; BA or BS with business-related major; accounting minor or credits (strongly preferred). * Experience working in a fast paced ball park or stadium environment (strongly preferred). * Minimum 5 years management experience in food-service or concessions industry. * Previous retail sales / merchandising experience (preferred) * Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff and guests in a clear, professional and courteous manner which fosters a positive, enthusiastic and cooperative work environment. * Ability to leverage and utilize financial data and analytics to make sound business/operations decisions quickly and under pressure. * Ability to speak, read, and write in English. * Solid working knowledge of computer applications: Microsoft office, POS systems, timekeeping systems. * Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment. * Possess a thorough working knowledge of all existing concessions and premium services locations: geographical location, equipment, evacuation procedures, adjacent employee and guest areas, and facility access. * Ability to calculate basic and complex math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages). * Ability to handle cash accurately and responsibly. * Ability to consistently adhere to the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, ethics and confidentiality. * Ability to work independently with little direction. * Concessions Manager Certificate from the National Association of Concessionaires (preferred). * Nationally recognized, advanced food service sanitation training course certification (preferred) Spectra, an industry leader in sports, entertainment and venue management, is dedicated to recruiting and developing individuals with the skills, experience, desire, and values to contribute to the continued growth and success of our organization.
