Job description We are opening a new restaurant and bar in the Eastern Market area of Washington, DC. This is a casual restaurant and bar that will serve traditional Mexican food and wings and other bar food.
The large bar area will have lots of TVs and show lots of sports, and have music upstairs on the roof deck at night. We're looking for an experienced Restaurant Manager to come in and help prepare for the opening, help interview, hire and train new staff. You'll need to be able to fill in as a bartender as needed, and ensure customers have a top caliber experience throughout the restaurant.
Responsibilities: Staff Management: Hiring, training, scheduling, and supervising all restaurant staff, including front-of-house and back-of-house teams. Customer Service: Addressing customer concerns, ensuring a positive dining experience, and resolving complaints. Financial Oversight:
Managing budgets, controlling costs, tracking sales, and generating financial reports. Inventory Control: Maintaining proper stock levels, ordering supplies, and managing food and beverage inventory. Operational Management: Overseeing daily restaurant operations, ensuring smooth service flow, and maintaining cleanliness standards. Health and Safety Compliance:
Adhering to food safety regulations, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and implementing emergency procedures. Experience: At least 5 years of experience managing or being assistant manager at a bar or restaurant. Certified Food Protection Manager (CFPM) certificate that is active.
