Coopers Hawk Winery and Restaurants is continuing to open more restaurants across the country, and due to this growth, we are adding to our Real Estate & Development team. In this role, the Restaurant Design Manager will be responsible for ensuring the plan design accuracy and plan production of Coopers Hawk (CH) & Piccolo Buco (PB) projects. He or she will manage the entire design process for their assigned projects, including site layout & utility coordination, schematic & design development, and construction drawing production.
What Youll Do:
Serve as the primary contact for outside architects, engineers & food service design professionals for all design strategy, implementation, and coordination.
Lead outside Architects, Engineers and various Consultants in development of contract documents for new restaurants and oversee maintenance of prototype documents.
Manage design of 10+ projects per year.
Manage the relationship with landlord teams to coordinate CH/PB drawing production with landlords sitework submissions.
Coordinate planning/permitting functions with CH Entitlements Manager.
Interface with other teams (Operations, Real Estate, Licensing, Purchasing, etc.) to adapt designs to specific sites.
Ensure each project meets CH / PB design standards.
Manage research and development process for design and facility-related issues (materials, systems, etc.).
Lead value engineering efforts as needed to reduce overall cost and time-to-market.
Evaluate in-line and conversion opportunities as presented by the Real Estate Department, and manage production of floor plans when required.
Assist Sr. Design Manager in establishing short-term and long-term strategic planning ideas to improve the design of our buildings, reduce errors and omissions in the plans and improve service to our guests.
What Youll Need:
Minimum 5-7 years of experience in design, preferably in restaurants/hospitality
B.S. degree in Architecture, Interior/Environmental Design
Architectural license or other related professional registration, a plus
Experience working with multi-unit restaurant chains, preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Office, BlueBeam, and AutoCAD. Knowledge of Revit a plus.
Ability to own the design process through sound judgement and timely decision-making
Proven ability to manage outside design professionals
Demonstrated desire and concern to stay abreast of evolving design and construction means and methods through continuing education programs and other informational sources.
Ability to communicate and perform effectively within the team and cross-functionally
Ability to adapt to changing business environments, solve problems and take advantage of opportunities to minimize project costs, maintain construction schedules and improve quality of completed facilities.
Willing to travel up to 20% of the time
