Job Title: Product Line Director – Lifting Location: Europe or Americas Summary – basic function of the role Responsible for development and implementation of growth strategies and product plans to meet the business goals including: new product revenue growth, overall product line revenue growth, profitability, cost, delivery, quality. Responsible for development and implementation of product line plans and activities including: product and technology roadmaps, pricing strategies, cost controls activities, promotional strategies, SKU management, commercial strategies, support requirement, acquisition strategies, 3rd party partnerships. This position will report directly to the Vice President of Marketing. Job Duties and Responsibilities * Develop global product line strategic plan / multi-generational product plan and implement those plans in order to achieve sales, financial and operational performance objectives for product line(s). * Monitor and drive key product line metrics: sales growth, new product vitality, profitability, new product revenue, inventory, lead-time, etc. in-line with the overall corporate goals and objectives * Develop and implement a product roadmap, utilizing product lifecycle management tactics and voice of customer, to drive profitable growth and ensure product competitiveness. * Along with the Chief Engineer, will develop and implement technology roadmap for assigned line of business * Act as the global leader with the company and provide leadership for the product line * Work with Regional Business and Marketing Leaders to develop marketing plans to drive profitable growth of new and existing products including: channel strategy, product sales training, promotions strategies, collateral, sales tools, marketing communications, distributor training, etc. * Work with the operations and supply chain to optimize quality, delivery and cost of the products * Generate and execute ideas within acquisition laneway for line of business * Develop and manage 3rd party partnerships for private label products * Develop and manage key 3rd party commercial sales or marketing partnerships * Perform in-depth global market analyses of market size, competitors, key technologies, channels, and key industry segments for assigned product line(s). * Develop and implement new marketing strategies and work closely with marketing communications to provide commercial material (including, but not limited to catalogs, brochures, training materials, internet marketing, technical data) to support the products and field sales. * Work with the financial analysts to set pricing levels and drive programs to deliver product costs that obtain revenues/gross margins to meet the operating plan. Identify, evaluate and implement programs to reduce product costs within assigned product line(s). * Forecast global annual product requirements needed for operations to determine targeted inventory levels that achieve working capital performance as well as customer service goals. MBA is preferred. Experience Requirements: Minimum of eight years of experience in marketing position managing a strategic line of business is required. Track record of successfully developing and implementing strategic growth plans (organic and acquisition). Experience or high exposure to industrial products in international markets. Experience in one of the following vertical market is preferred (Oil & Gas, Power Generation, Infrastructure, Mining) Sustained record of self-motivated industrial/manufacturing sales, marketing or engineering achievements is required. Physical Demands Employee may have to lift documents/work materials up to 30 pounds in weight. Employee will have to be able to walk/climb to a variety of primary work locations, including traveling by air/auto to remote sites. Position may require travel up to 10% of time depending on assigned projects. Employee will need to listen, understand, and speak with team members in person, telephonically, and electronically at all levels within a diverse workforce and with supported organizations. Employee is able to work in front of a personal computer and telephone for long periods of time.
