What We're Looking For:

We are looking for a Community Association Common Area Attendant to join our team. A person acting in this position must have a strong understanding of common area property upkeep coupled with attention to detail. In order for this candidate to be successful, they must be highly self-motivated and directed, committed to solving problems efficiently, and interested in being part of an organization committed to continuous growth and improvement. This is a position that must be able to interact with a diverse team and respond quickly to requests from community associations.

What You'll Do:

  • Clean and maintain the common areas of the community association, HOA, or resort to meet property standards.

  • Vacuum carpets, upholstered furniture, and/or draperies.

  • Empty wastebaskets, clean ashtrays, and transport other trash and waste to disposal areas.

  • Sweep, scrub, wax, and/or polish floors, using brooms, mops, and/or powered scrubbing and waxing machines.

  • Dust and polish furniture and equipment.

  • Keep walkways, stairs, and all other public spaces maintained.

  • Clean restroom areas and replace paper and cleansing products.

  • Wash windows.

  • Maintain common amenities such as a fitness center, pool, spa, game room, or recreation facility.

  • Keep grounds free of debris in various weather conditions.

  • Perform light maintenance on the common areas of the property, such as changing light bulbs, tightening door handles, and touching up painting.

  • Assist with preventative, routine, and emergency maintenance.

  • Keep the property secure and assist with providing access to owners, their guests, and approved third parties.

  • Help with protecting the property in advance of and after severe weather events.

  • Provide regular status reports of common area property to Community Association Manager.

Skills you'll need

  • Must be detail oriented with good organizational skills.

  • Familiarity with cleaning products and equipment, as well as cleaning techniques.

  • Frequent lifting, pushing of supplies and equipment.

  • Prolonged standing, walking, reaching, stooping, bending and kneeling.

  • Must be able to work independently and follow instructions regarding priorities of tasks or functions.

  • Must learn the standards for cleanliness and maintenance of all common areas inside and outside.

  • May be required to work outside in inclimate weather

  • Applied verbal and written communications

  • Attention to detail

  • Reasonable comfort level with computers and smartphones

  • Reliable transportation

  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds

General Purpose: Responsible for keeping common areas clean and defect free; including pool decks, lobbies, offices, and other locations as assigned. Essential Duties: * Maintain and clean various common areas, restrooms, and office spaces. * Pick up trash / debris from outside common areas * Clean public restrooms * Change sand in ash urns * Straighten outside furniture * Clean and vacuum grills * Mop offices and hallways * Dust and polish furniture and fittings * Empty office trash * Maintain a constant stock of restroom supplies and clean office restrooms * Other duties as assigned Education: * High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Hospitality experience is a must. Basic Required Skills: * Provide excellent customer with guests and members. * Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace. * Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written. * Must have basic computer knowledge. * Must be able to work with minimal supervision. * Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation products, techniques and methods preferred. * Knowledge of cleaning sensitive materials preferred. Physical Demands: * Most work tasks are performed indoor as well as outdoor. Temperature is moderate and controlled by the environmental systems and can be subject to outside elements. * Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility * Must be able to stand or be mobile for up to 8 hours per day. * Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks. * Must be able to exert a well-paced ability to maneuver between functions occurring simultaneously. * Must be able to lift items weighing up to 25-50 lbs. as needed. * Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening, and hearing ability, and visual acuity. * Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with members, guests, supervisors, and other employees. * Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception. * Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
