The Mental Health Association is seeking Per Diem Childrens Respite Workers in our Children & Families Division! The Respite worker provides non-judgmental positive support to a child whose self-esteem has often been challenged by the social, emotional or behavioral problems he/she has confronted and works to build a relationship that fosters trust, confidence and self-acceptance. Duties include implementation of fun activities that are age appropriate, providing respite services on a regular basis in or out of the home, coordinate scheduling, provide transportation for children and their families to appointments when needed and initiate regular conversation with the family you are working with. The ideal candidate has experience working with children, has an understanding of cultural family differences and is non-judgmental.
Requirements for the position include: HS Diploma/GED with experience working with children or an Associates Degree in Human Services or Early Childhood Education. A clean, valid driver license is also a must. All offers are contingent upon the ability to obtain Statewide Central Registry and Fingerprint clearances, plus a clean MVR.
