Respiratory Therapist

Provides medical gas therapy such as oxygen, helix/ox, nitric oxide and other special therapeutic gases.

Provides bland and medicated aerosol therapy - intermittently and continuously

Provides humidity therapy - both Passover, and heated - utilizing various delivery devices.

Provides invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation utilizing a variety of high tech equipment.

Provides airway pressure therapies such as, CPAP, utilizing various nasal and facial masks, cannula, and pillows.

Writes respiratory plan of care and follows its achievement and completion

Measures, interprets and monitor vital signs before and after treatments

Collects, interprets and monitors respiratory physiological parameters

Informs physicians about any outliers

Responds to and participates in CPR, rapid response, and disasters

Prepares and provides respiratory care supports to patients receiving invasive ventilation during transport.

Performs invasive procedures such as translaryngeal intubation, arterial puncture, and trans laryngeal suctioning.
