Overview and Qualifications

Role Summary:
Supports department by providing care to patients requiring all types of respiratory support including critical, emergency, general therapy, pediatric and infant care. Supports organizational improvement by teaching and participating in the management of resources for patient care.

Required Education: Associates Degree in Respiratory Care OR Completion of Respiratory Care Program Accredited by Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC)

Preferred Education: Associates Degree in Respiratory Care OR Completion of Respiratory Care Program Accredited by Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) and 20 years of experience

Required License: Registered by NBRC; a current North Carolina License issued by North Carolina Respiratory Care Board (NCRCB) and a current BCLS.

Preferred License: ACLS, PALS, NRP (Pediatric-Perinatal Specialty)

Required Experience: None

Preferred Experience: 2 years Critical Care

Working Conditions: Attached

OSHA Category: Potential for exposure to blood or body fluids.

Patient Care Group: Neonate, pediatric, adolescent, geriatric, and the dying patient.

We partner with our clients to support them through their recovery and transformation.</p><p><br></p><p>The Primary Therapist is responsible for:</p><ul> <li> initiating and developing treatment planning goals through contact with clients, family, colleagues, and other staff. </li> <li>They will facilitate process groups, one-to-one sessions, and family sessions. </li> <li>Evaluate behavioral and emotional needs of clients and family members.</li> <li>Communicating with referral sources and corporate representatives. </li> <li>Attends treatment team meetings. </li> <li>Participates in community meetings and scheduled outings with clients. </li> <li>Facilitates utilization reviews with appropriate funding sources in a timely fashion. </li> <li>Maintains client caseload daily. </li> <li>Maintains safe, orderly, and therapeutic physical environment for clients including crisis intervention. </li> </ul><p><br></p><p>Capable of role modeling to the clients. Helps to maintain strong clinical program. Staff able to work together to effectively meet the needs of the clients. Maintains positive relationship with referral sources and families. Ensure the chart maintains compliance with licensing regulations. Must be willing to work a weekend day, either Saturday or Sunday.</p><p><br></p><p>EOE</p><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><p>Master’s Degree from an accredited college and one of the following credentials: LPC, LPC-A, LCSW, LCSW-A, LMFT, LMFT-A. Prefer LCSW or LPC</p><p><br></p>Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to problem solve by gathering and analyzing information, working well in an individual/ group problem solving situation, and showing initiative in problem solving. Maintains professionalism and does not show favoritism. Maintains consistency with clients, staff, visitors, and the public. Sound clinical judgment and excellent clinical skills. Ability to handle a crisis situation and react appropriately. Flexible and adaptable. Ability to make decisions in an objective and ethical manner. Calm and decisive in crisis situations.
