Summary:

Provides assistance with patient care activities and other unit tasks under the general supervision of licensed professional staff and as directed by the manager.

Responsibilities:

1.Provides physical care to assigned patients and performs technical skills such as point of care (POC) testing.

2.Implements nursing orders promptly and adequately with an understanding of the purpose of each.

3.Follows policy and procedure for assigned patient care activities, including unit specific equipment &

4.Provides patient comfort by positioning, extra bathing, straightening linens, putting personal articles within

reach with courtesy and responsiveness.

5.Provides for patient safety through preventative measures (i.e. side rails, restraints, bed/chair exit alarm, and

hourly rounding).

6.Enters all data into the computer system as applicable.

7.Communicates all patient and visitor information & observations to the appropriate person.

8.Provides care appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned unit. Demonstrates knowledge of

the principles of growth and development over the life span.

9.Reports and/or records any changes observed in the condition or behavior of patient; reports all unusual

conditions or reactions to the nurse in charge.



  1. Recognizes and responds to priorities in the patient care process. Responds to priorities promptly; exercises

good judgement in setting priorities for activities.



  1. Uses effective working relationships with all health care team members, patients, and significant others.

  2. Maintains a safe and orderly work environment & a clean, well stocked work area. Assists with maintaining


unit equipment.



  1. Works as a Safety Attendant/Patient Sitter by providing a safe environment to specific patients. Follows

WCHN standards of service excellence.



  1. Attends staff meetings. Reads/signs 100% of meeting minutes.

  2. Maintains competency for Basic Life Support certification.

  3. Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.

  4. Performs other duties as assigned.


Other information:

This position requires a minimum formal education of High School Diploma and minimum of zero to six months

job-related experience.

High school diploma or equivalent is required. Experience in a hospital environment is preferred but not required.

Active CNA certification is preferred. BLS/CPR required within 90 days of start date or upon completion of

orientation process (before being released from orientation and functioning independently) whichever comes first.

VIEW JOBS 10/11/2020 12:00:00 AM 2021-01-09T00:00 Western Connecticut Medical Group - Full-time Clinical Psychologist - Danbury, CT Summary: Provide comprehensive psychological testing to children, adolescents, and college students referred from various providers (e.g. pediatricians, psychiatry, therapists, neurologists, etc.) in order to identify cognitive strengths and weaknesses, behavioral and/or emotional issues, and/or identify other difficulties contributing to the presenting problem; develop and organize a treatment plan that is most consistent with the patient's needs given the diagnosis Responsibilities: 1. Provide comprehensive psycho-educational testing to children, adolescents, and college students in order to identify learning strengths and weaknesses in the context of behavioral, emotional, and cognitive development; utilize the information to aid in diagnosis and to assist with educational planning 2. Provide Independent Educational Evaluations (IEEs) for school districts to assist in determining educational classification and/or eligibility for services when prior testing has presented discrepant reports 3. Provide individual therapy to those between the age of 8-65 years old using an integrative approach of short-term psychodynamic therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy (including DBT). 4. Documents care in accordance with accepted best practices and meets the documentation needs of the referring providers. 5. Create reports using data from tests, self-report measures, rating scales, direct observations, clinical interview, and medical record review. 6. Performs all necessary coding functions in accordance with regulations. 7. Sets appointment durations and daily patient volume at the direction of department AVP, taking national norms into consideration. 8. Provides feedback to individuals and families regarding diagnoses, offering compensatory strategies to address cognitive difficulties, and generating resources and recommendations to assist the individual and family address specific psychosocial needs. 9. Supports research studies as required. 10. Follows all policies and procedures. 11. Actively participates in multidisciplinary team meetings, including but not limited to: staff meetings, program develop meetings, and discussions related to patient care & treatment planning. 12.
