Position Overview
We are seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our team! This is a PRN position working 1-2 shifts per week, or as needed.
Responsibilities
Assists in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with pulmonary disorders
Collects and analyzes blood to determine levels of oxygen, carbon dioxide, and other gases
Responds to emergency situations
Maintains competencies to ensure compliance with all regulatory statutes
Administers medication and treatments in accordance with policies
Makes rounds to adequately maintain patient's equipment, therapeutic listings
Reports identified unusual patient conditions/reactions to immediate supervisor
Prepares electronic documentation of all work/service rendered and provides written/verbal report to oncoming staff
Performs quality control on all cardiopulmonary equipment
Utilizes resources efficiently and effectively
Maintains safe environment
Addresses patient population-specific needs
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum of an Associate's Degree in Respiratory Care required
Current Texas Medical Board (TMB) Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) Permit - Required upon Hire
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required upon hire
National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) required
American Heart Association (AHA) approved certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) - Required upon Hire
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - Required within 90 Days of hire
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - Required within 90 Days of hire
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - Required within 90 Days of hire
Minimum one (1) year of adult and pediatric critical care experience
