Summary:
The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for administering safe and competent respiratory care as ordered per physician, monitoring mechanical ventilation, administering medications, patient assessment, understanding ramifications of hemodynamic monitoring, understanding blood work results, monitoring, teaching, and training.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Education: As required for Registry by National Board of Respiratory Care for Registry.

Licenses/Certification: Current credential as Registered Respiratory Therapist by the National Board of Respiratory Care.

Current licensure from state licensure agency. BLS Certification. Must maintain currency of NBRC credential, BLS Certification and State license.

Experience: 1 year of experience required

Delivers care in accordance with patient practice guidelines upon physician referral and under the supervision of the Senior Therapist/Team Lead Therapist. Adheres to all hospital and department policies including but not limited to: infection control, performance improvement, billing procedures and scheduling. Assists in the supervision of Physical Therapy Assistants, students, aides and volunteers. Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy. Masters degree or Doctorate preferred. Must be a licensed Physical Therapist in the state of PA. BCLS certification required. Strong communication, teamwork and time management skills. Experience preferred.
